Taking a Course - What Does it Mean?
Course is
education or
knowledge imparted
in a
series of
lessons or
meetings. A
connected series of events or actions or developments. A mode of action. A
body of students who are taught together.
Education Courses are made up of individual sessions, typically on a
fixed weekly
schedule. There are different formats of course in
universities: The
lecture
course, where the instructor gives lectures with minimal interaction; The
seminar, where students
prepare and present their original written work
for discussion and critique; The colloquium or reading course, where the
instructor assigns
readings for each session which are then discussed by
the members; The
tutorial course, where one or a small number of students
work on a topic and meet with the instructor weekly for
discussion and
guidance. The
Directed Individual Study course, where a student requests
to create and title an area of study for themselves which is more
concentrated and in-depth than a standard course. It is directed under a
tenured faculty member and approved by a department chair or possibly the
dean within that specific college; the laboratory course, where most work
takes place in a
laboratory. Many courses combine these formats. Lecture
courses often include weekly discussion sections with smaller groups of
students led by the principal instructor, another instructor, or teaching
assistant. Laboratory courses often combine lectures, discussion sections,
and laboratory sessions. Students are expected to do various kinds of work
for a course: Attending course sessions. Reading and studying course
readings assigned in the course syllabus. Discussing material they have
read. Writing short and
long papers based on assigned reading and their
own library research. Completing homework or problem sets. Completing
laboratory exercises. Taking quizzes and examinations. The exact work
required depends on the discipline, the course, and the particular
instructor. Unlike most European university courses, grades are generally
determined by all of these kinds of work, not only the final examination.
Course can also mean a part of a meal
served at one time. Course can also mean a
general line of orientation. A
line or route along which something travels or moves. Course can also mean
a facility consisting of a circumscribed area of land or water laid out
for a sport.

Questions to Ask When Deciding your Education Options
1. Will the knowledge
and information that I gain from these educational courses provide me with
the knowledge and skills to perform the work that is most needed in this
world today? Does the course prove that you understand a subject well enough
in order to use that knowledge to
benefit society? And the work that is most needed in the world today is based
upon the current knowledge and information provided by statistics and facts.
These are the jobs that will make the best improvements, make the most
positive changes and make the biggest
difference in people's lives.
Does the course make you
qualified to perform
some particular action that is needed by society? Is the course
you took just one of many courses that you need to take in order to create
a valuable skill that would benefit society?
2. Will the knowledge and information that I gain from these educational
courses be in line with the things that I am passionate about doing, and
also and just as important, will these educational courses provide me with
the knowledge and skills to perform work that is most needed in this world
today?
3. Will the knowledge and information that I gain from these educational
courses provide me with the life skills and critical thinking skills that
every human needs, if not, then I must also include in my education the
necessary knowledge and information about life skills, critical thinking
skills and also interpersonal knowledge and intrapersonal knowledge.
4. Where else can I acquire this knowledge
and information from these educational courses if I cannot afford to go my
school of choice?
My educational
choice can no longer be based on
fame or how much
money I will earn for that
is a narrow-minded evaluation and is only based on lack of knowledge about
the world and lack of knowledge about myself.
National Curriculum.
My educational choice is no longer based on
what jobs are available or projected to be available. Unless those jobs
are proven to make the best improvements, make the most positive changes
and make the biggest difference in people's lives.
Launching the Innovation RenaissanceIf jobs and work is not
available or projected to be available for my chosen education field then
I must include in my education the necessary knowledge and skills to make
the necessary
social changes that will help educate the
public about the condition of the world and at the same time educate the
public about the necessary improvements that we all have to make.

Career Choices Information
Education is an Investment in your Future. Before you start your education you have to know what
knowledge is the most important for you to learn? When will be the best time to
learn this new knowledge? What are the best learning methods available to learn
this new knowledge? And you have to honestly answer why this particular
knowledge is so important, and just how will this new knowledge benefit you and
the world around you? What are your options? What are your choices? What are
your responsibilities? What are your priorities? What are your time constraints?
What are you waiting for?
Education is the process of
facilitating learning, or
the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits.
Educational methods include storytelling, discussion, teaching, training,
and directed research. Education frequently takes place under the guidance
of educators and also
learners may also educate themselves. Education can take place in
formal or informal settings and any experience that has a formative effect
on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be considered educational. The
methodology of teaching is called pedagogy. Formal education is commonly
divided formally into such stages as
preschool or kindergarten,
primary school, secondary school and then college, university, or
apprenticeship. A right to education has been recognized by some
governments and the United Nations. In most regions, education is
compulsory up to a certain age.

Higher education mostly focuses on certain subjects. Higher education does not
teach you how to accurately understand the world or help you understand
the amazing complexities of the human mind and body. Higher education does
not make sure that you understand the whole picture and the cause and
effects of everything that you do. Or does it teach you how the
environment sustains you. Higher education does not explain that
you are in a cult. Or do
they teach you that the only way out of this cult like situation is to learn your way out.

Cramming is the practice of working intensively to
absorb large
volumes of informational material in short amounts of time. It is often
done by students in preparation for upcoming
exams, especially just before
they are due. Usually the student's priority is to obtain shallow recall
suited to a superficial examination protocol, rather than to internalize
the deep structure of the subject matter. Cramming is often discouraged by
educators because the hurried coverage of material tends to result in poor
long-term retention of material, a phenomenon often referred to as the
spacing effect. Despite this, educators nevertheless widely persist in the
use of superficial examination protocols, because these questions are
easier to compose, quicker (and therefore cheaper for the institution) to
grade, and objective on their own terms. When cramming, one attempts to
focus only on studies and to forgo unnecessary actions or habits.

Home Schooling - Pros and Cons
Homeschooling is the
education of children at
home or a
variety of places other
than school. Home education is usually conducted by a parent, tutor,
or an online teacher. Many families use less formal ways of educating.
"Homeschooling" is the term commonly used in North America, whereas "home
education" is commonly used in the United Kingdom, Europe, and in many
Commonwealth countries. Before the introduction of
compulsory school attendance
laws, most childhood education was done by families and local communities.
In many developed countries, homeschooling is a legal alternative to
public and private schools. In other nations, homeschooling remains
illegal or restricted to specific conditions, as recorded by homeschooling
international status and statistics. Is homeschooling the same thing as
homework?
Home Schooling has many advantages, like learning what you need to learn, and
learning when you want to learn, and not having to wake up early, not
having to
fight over homework, not having to run back and forth
to school, not having to pack lunches, not having to
stress over school uniforms, or whether you conform or stick to
your beliefs, and it also offers the
flexibility of being able
to travel when you want and spend more time with family.
Teachers struggle with too little resources, too much
testing,
too little time and too many rules. The system is not only
failing the students, but it's failing the teachers too. In
order for homeschooling to be effective, a homeschooled student must learn
to
discipline themselves,
manage time and
stick with
routines that helps
them to be the most
productive. Homeschooled students must create their own
motivations and
incentives. Homeschooled students must also
have
clear goals that include short
term goals and
long term goals. Learning how
to be
responsible for your own
education is a must. If you fail to educate yourself, may may fail
life
Pros: Flexible instructional pace and
flexible class participation.
Not Passively Learning. Elimination of barriers of time and
space.
Flexible. Cost-effectiveness of online courses. Electronic research
availability (digital
libraries and online databases). A well-designed
online course makes it easy for students to navigate and find the adequate
information they need. Children can still learn together by going to each
others house or to any place where they choose to learn.
Cons: None
Feedback from an instructor can be done by
Online Tutors
or
Ai Avatars. Technical support from an
instructor can also be done by Online Tutors or Ai Avatars.
Self-regulation and self-motivation can be taught using
Computerized Lessons. Sense
of isolation or lack of interpersonal communication and interactions among
students can be easily overcome by online communities and online support.
We can also teach students how to deal with isolation and lack of human
interactions.
Pros
and Cons Argument.
Distance Education is the education of students who may not always be
physically present at a school. Traditionally, this usually involved
correspondence courses wherein the student corresponded with the school
via post. Today, it involves online education. A distance learning program
can be completely distance learning, or a combination of distance learning
and traditional classroom instruction (called hybrid or blended).
Massive open online courses (MOOCs), offering
large-scale interactive participation and open access through the World
Wide Web or other network technologies, are recent educational modes in
distance education. A number of other terms (distributed learning,
e-learning, m-learning, online learning, virtual classroom etc.) are used
roughly synonymously with distance education.
Correspondence Course is a course of study
in which student and teachers communicate by mail.
“There is no school equal to a decent home
and no teacher equal to a virtuous parent.” -
Mahatma GandhiIn the first 5 years of a
child's life, the main thing that a parent needs to teach their
child, is how to be a
self
directed learner. Every child needs to fully understand the
responsibility of
learning, and understand the
importance of learning. Then you must provide students with the most
valuable knowledge and information available, and any tools that you can
find that would help them succeed in learning.
You need to do this even if your child does
go to school.
For students who find a traditional classroom setting to be
unsatisfactory, like children who may have health issues, or experience war or
other violence, or students who are gifted, home schooling is
the best choice for
self-directed learning activities that allow the student to
be self-reliant and learn at their own pace. (Low-Hanging Fruit)

Top Dog - Bottom Dog" phenomenon Evidence on Bullying, Safety, and
Belonging. Students reported better learning environments as top dogs than
as middle and bottom dogs.
Teaching Machines and Computerized Learning Advantages.
Lower long-term costs, instant feedback to students, greater
flexibility with respect to location and timing, improved
reliability (machine marking is much more reliable than human
marking) improved impartiality (machine marking does not 'know'
the students so does not favour nor make allowances for minor
errors) Greater storage efficiency - tens of thousands of answer
scripts can be stored on a computer compared to the physical
space required for paper scripts. Enhanced question styles which
incorporate interactivity and
multimedia.

11: What is the true cost of taking this course? (Not the price)
12: Will employers recognize your education as being valid and
valuable? Will the Student? Will anyone else?
13: If this is a task specific course, or a specialized course
that enhances mostly one particular skill, then what are the
prerequisites? And what is the final goal of this knowledge and
skill?
Career Questions.
114: Will other courses be necessary after completing these
courses? What are they?
Most schools fail in these areas, whether you're in a classroom
or online. An online course is Convenient and flexible, but
those two benefits are irrelevant if the course is ineffective
in teaching the person valuable skills at a proficient level.
Schools, colleges and universities make outrageous claims on why
classroom teaching is better then online learning. But the
reasons they give mostly proves one thing, that the education
that they received was inadequate. Because
the research and the
premise is flawed, just like the school they attended. Don't
take me wrong about schools, schools, colleges and universities
are absolutely necessary. This is about effectiveness,
efficiency and the cost. And we are not just talking about the
price, but the actual cost, True Cost is something that schools
don't teach students, because if they did, students would then
be able to accurately calculate the true cost of the school that
they are attending, and would most likely see the deficiencies
and start looking for a better school. And also, the process of
calculating actual cost would also reveal corruption, waste and
abuse, which are more
things that schools and politicians are afraid of people
learning.
When attending a school, you are most likely to be cut off from
the real world and be boxed in. But online you have a much
better chance to connect to the real world because of all the
resources, knowledge and information that you can access.
The number of home-schooled students jumped nationwide to about
1.7 million between 2003 and 2012, they still represent just
over 3 percent of all students. But of course this does not
include the number of students who have to do
school work at home. So even if you go to a school, most of
your learning will happen when you're not in school.
We still need
schools, but we still need to
improve
schools a whole lot more, because the main reasons why
parents need to home school their children is because there are
very few good quality schools for the children to attend near
where they live.
An estimated 5 million to 7.5 million U.S. students miss nearly
a month of school each year. This is not an
Attendance problem, this is a school failing to teach a
student and then blaming it on the child for not showing up. You
are paid to transfer knowledge and information, and it's
supposed to be valuable knowledge and skills, but most of what
schools teach has little value today.
Some schools make learning more difficult on purpose, forcing
students to think that they need to try harder, when what they
really need to do is to learn how to learn more effectively and
efficiently, and then learn what knowledge, skills and
information is the most valuable to their particular needs, at
this particular moment in their life.

Employers will say that you need a
credited degree,
but they know that is discrimination and a very ignorant way to
measure a persons ability and potential. So this is another
problem that education must solve. A
Gallup Poll revealed that
85% of Americans and 89% of business leaders believe that recent
graduates don't have the
necessary skills and competencies to
succeed
in modern workplaces. So almost everyone knows that American education in
inadequate and dysfunctional, so what are we waiting for? We have to
improve education.
Education Questions to Ask? -
Education
Purposes?
And what is the modern workplace? The modern workplace is
another word for Earth, or you could say that it's another word
to describe our
current
state, or our current
Reality.
A gifted and talented 10 year old who is self taught, considers
his school to be slow and boring, but he likes going to school
because he gets to spend time with his friends. Kids don't go to
school to become intelligent, why?
"Homeschooling is
going well. Two students have been suspended for fighting and one teacher
has been fired for drinking on the job."
So the bottom line is, when comparing a school to an online school you have to first
say "Which School? Which Online Course? And then answer those 14
other key questions. Online courses have many benefits, they
allow for learning in distant or disadvantaged locations, which
would be a life saver for millions of people. But if you don't
have access to a computer, or have access to the internet, then
you're screwed. That means you are forced to find a quality
school or other facility that will teach you.
We know now what needs to be done.

Eight Dimensional E-Learning Framework is a detailed self-assessment
instrument for institutions to organize their evaluation of educational
technology (e-learning) readiness and opportunities for growth. The
framework provides a structure for systematically reviewing initiatives
and programs, so that desired learning outcomes are achieved. The
framework is composed of eight dimensions, each reviewed by practical
checklists of 50 - 70 questions. The checklist does not include a scoring
system, but serves as an instrument that verifies that each area is
cultivated.
Massive Open Online Course is an online course aimed at unlimited
participation and open access via the web. In addition to traditional
course materials, such as filmed lectures, readings, and problem sets,
many
MOOCs provide interactive courses with user forums or social media
discussions to support community interactions among students, professors,
and teaching assistants (TAs), as well as immediate feedback to quick
quizzes and assignments. MOOCs are a recent and widely researched
development in distance education, first introduced in 2008 and emerged as
a popular mode of learning in 2012. Early MOOCs (cMOOCs) often emphasized
open-access features, such as open licensing of content, structure and
learning goals, to promote the reuse and remixing of resources. Some later
MOOCs (xMOOCs) use closed licenses for their course materials while
maintaining free access for students.
A University of Pennsylvania study of
1 million MOOC users
who participated in 16 of the school’s Coursera classes, for
example, found that only about half of the registrants viewed
even a single online lecture and that the average completion
rate was just 4 percent. UPenn study, a majority of those registering for the free
classes (between 70 and 80 percent) already had college degrees.
That’s about double the rate of the U.S. population at large.
And in other parts of the world—where free online college
classes were envisioned as tools of social mobility—the portion
of already-educated students was even more dramatic. Last year,
a piece of commentary that ran in The Times cited a study showing that in
countries such as Brazil, China, India, Russia, and South
Africa—where just 5 percent of residents have college
degrees—more than 80 percent of MOOC students had one.
Democratizing education? Examining access and usage patterns in
massive open online courses
Educated people usually seek more
education, no kidding. Is it
because they realize that
they don't know enough?
I wonder how that happened?
Yale University
is offering some courses online for free. These courses are
great examples on how we can bring more education to more
people. These courses are not complete and most of the knowledge
needed to complete your understanding
of these courses must be done on your own through research and discussions.
The more I learn about what is being taught in
schools and universities is that the quality of these teachings
is only as good as the person teaching it. So
improving
teachers
will definitely help improve our education as long as you
improve the curriculum too.

Tutoring - Private Instruction - Mentor
Tutor
is an
instructor
who helps a student that needs extra help
learning a subject. Giving a
student private lessons, sometimes to learn more or to learn faster then
regular class teaching. "
A

One-On-One Instruction has many benefits. Instructors can gauge the
student’s progress and mastery and have the ability to
personalize
conversations and
assignments. Instructors can adapt to the student’s communication
style and create a low stress environment that frees the student from the
fear of failure. With one on one, students do not need to decode the
messages their instructor gives them. Students don't have to figure out
how to communicate back to the teacher. Students can have high quality
interactions where they are heard. This gives students the opportunity to
step up and not have to rely on others. One on one can help avoid
overstimulation and can also eliminate many distractions. With one on one
teaching, the class will never go on without the student.

Mentoring is to serve as a

School Mentors -
Parenting.
Mentorship is a relationship in which a more experienced or more
knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less
knowledgeable person. The mentor may be older or younger than the person
being mentored, but she or he must have a certain area of expertise. It is
a learning and development partnership between someone with vast
experience and someone who wants to learn. Mentorship experience and
relationship structure affect the "amount of psychosocial support, career
guidance, role modeling, and communication that occurs in the mentoring
relationships in which the protégés and mentors engaged." The person in
receipt of mentorship may be referred to as a protégé (male), a protégée
(female), an apprentice or, in the 2000s, a mentee. The mentor may be
referred to as a godfather/godmother or a rabbi. "Mentoring" is a process
that always involves communication and is relationship-based, but its
precise definition is elusive, with more than 50 definitions currently in
use. One definition of the many that have been proposed, is Mentoring is a
process for the informal transmission of knowledge, social capital, and
the psychosocial support perceived by the recipient as relevant to work,
career, or professional development; mentoring entails informal
communication, usually face-to-face and during a sustained period of time,
between a person who is perceived to have greater relevant knowledge,
wisdom, or experience (the mentor) and a person who is perceived to have
less (the protégé)".
Teacher Resources.
Mutual Mentorship
or Mutual Mentoring is a way that two people can come together to meet
their mutual needs and benefit from each others
experience and knowledge. A type of two-way mentoring where each
person is both the mentor of and mentee of the other person.
Peer Support
occurs when
people provide knowledge, experience, emotional, social or
practical help to each other. It commonly refers to an initiative
consisting of
trained supporters (although it can be provided by peers
without training), and can take a number of forms such as peer mentoring,
listening, or counseling. Peer support is also used to refer to
initiatives where colleagues, members of self-help organizations and
others meet, in person or online, as equals to give each other support on
a reciprocal basis. Peer support is distinct from other forms of social
support in that the source of support is a peer, a person who is similar
in fundamental ways to the recipient of the support; their relationship is
one of equality. A peer is in a position to offer support by virtue of
relevant experience: he or she has "been there, done that" and can relate
to others who are now in a similar situation. Trained peer support workers
such as peer support specialists and peer counselors receive special
training and are required to obtain Continuing Education Units, like
clinical staff. Some other trained peer support workers may also be
law-enforcement personnel and firefighters as well as emergency medical
responders.

the peer-level web meeting context, in an attempt to disambiguate it from
the other types of collaborative sessions. Terminology related to these
technologies is inexact, and no generally agreed upon source or standards
organization exists to provide an established usage reference.

Peer-to-Peer Video Sharing is a basic service on top of the IP
Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). Early proprietary implementations might also
run a simple SIP infrastructure, too. The GSM Association calls it "Video
Share". The peer-to-peer video sharing functionality is defined by the
Phase 1 of the GSMA Video Share service. For a more detailed description
of the full GSMA Video Share service, please see the Wikipedia entry for
Video Share. The most basic form is typically connected to a classical
circuit-switched (CS) telephone call. While talking on the CS line the
speaker can start in parallel a multimedia IMS session. The session is
normally a video stream, with audio being optional (since there is an
audio session already open on the CS domain). It is also possible to share
photos or files. Actually, P2P video sharing does not require a full IMS
implementation. It could work with a pure IETF Session Initiation Protocol
(SIP) infrastructure and simple HTTP Digest authentication. However,
mobile operators may want to use it without username/password provisioning
and the related frauds problems. One possible solution is the Early IMS
Authentication method. In the future USIM/ISIM based authentication could
be introduced, too. So the IMS adds up extra security and management
features that are normally required by a mobile operator by default.
WebRTC
or Web Real-Time Communication is a free, open-source project that
provides web browsers and mobile applications with real-time communication
(RTC) via simple application programming interfaces (APIs). It allows
audio and video communication to work inside web pages by allowing direct
peer-to-peer communication, eliminating the need to install plugins or
download native apps. Supported by Apple, Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, and
Opera, WebRTC is being standardized through the World Wide Web Consortium
(W3C) and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Its mission is to
"enable rich, high-quality RTC applications to be developed for the
browser, mobile platforms, and IoT devices, and allow them all to
communicate via a common set of protocols".

Teleconference is the live exchange and mass articulation of
information among several persons and machines remote from one another but
linked by a telecommunications system. Terms such as audio conferencing,
telephone conferencing and phone conferencing are also sometimes used to
refer to teleconferencing. The telecommunications system may support the
teleconference by providing one or more of the following: audio, video,
and/or data services by one or more means, such as telephone, computer,
telegraph, teletypewriter, radio, and television.
Data Conferencing refers to a communication session among two or more
participants sharing computer data in real time. Interaction and
presentation devices such as a screen, keyboard, mouse, camera, etc. can
be shared or be able to control each other computer. It is used to
distinguish from video conferencing and audio conferencing. The data can
include screen, documents, graphics, drawings and applications that can be
seen, annotated or manipulated by participants.

Open Source Curriculum is an online instructional resource
that can be freely used, distributed and modified. OSC is based on the
open-source practice of creating products or software that opens up access
to source materials or codes. Applied to education, this process invites
feedback and participation from developers, educators, government
officials, students and parents and empowers them to exchange ideas,
improve best practices and create world-class curricula. These
“development” communities can form ad-hoc, within the same subject area or
around a common student need, and allow for a variety of editing and
workflow structures.

Open Source Maturity Model is a methodology for assessing
Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) and more specifically the FLOSS
development process. This methodology is released under the
Creative Commons license.
Open Standard is a standard that is publicly available and
has various rights to use associated with it, and may also have various
properties of how it was designed (e.g. open process). There is no single
definition and interpretations vary with usage.
Open Platform describes a software system which is based on
open standards, such as published and fully documented external
application programming interfaces (API) that allow using the software to
function in other ways than the original programmer intended, without
requiring modification of the source code. Using these interfaces, a third
party could integrate with the platform to add functionality. The opposite
is a closed platform.
Open Knowledge is knowledge that one is free to use, reuse,
and redistribute without legal, social or technological restriction. Open
knowledge is a set of principles and methodologies related to the
production and distribution of how knowledge works in an open manner.
Knowledge is interpreted broadly to include data, content and general
information.
Knowledge Divide.
Open Access is a set of principles and a range of practices through
which research outputs are distributed online, free of cost or other
access barriers. With open access strictly defined (according to the 2001
definition), or libre open access, barriers to copying or reuse are also
reduced or removed by applying an open license for copyright. The main
focus of the open access movement is "peer reviewed research literature."
Historically, this has centered mainly on print-based academic journals.
Whereas conventional (non-open access) journals cover publishing costs
through access tolls such as subscriptions, site licenses or pay-per-view
charges, open-access journals are characterised by funding models which do
not require the reader to pay to read the journal's contents. Open access
can be applied to all forms of published research output, including
peer-reviewed and non peer-reviewed academic journal articles, conference
papers, theses, book chapters, monographs, and images.
Web
of Science is a website that provides subscription-based access to
multiple databases that provide comprehensive citation data for many
different academic disciplines. It was originally produced by the
Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) and is currently maintained by
Clarivate Analytics (previously the Intellectual Property and Science
business of Thomson Reuters).
Open Content
describes a
creative work
that others can
copy or modify
freely, without asking for permission. The term evokes the related
concept of open-source software. Such content is said to be under an open
license.

Open System
is a
system
that has external interactions. Such interactions can take the
form of information, energy, or material transfers into or out of the
system boundary, depending on the discipline which defines the concept. An
open system is contrasted with the concept of an
isolated system which exchanges neither energy, matter, nor
information with its environment. An open system is also known as a
constant volume system or a flow system.
Open
System
in
computing is one of a class of computers and associated software that
provides some combination of interoperability, portability and open
software standards, particularly Unix and Unix-like systems.
Open System in
systems theory
is the
natural and social sciences, a process that exchanges material, energy,
people, capital or information with its environment.
Open System in
thermodynamics is a system where matter and energy can enter or
leave, in contrast to a closed system where energy can enter or leave
but matter can not.
Open System in
control
theory is a feed-forward system that does not have any
feedback loop to
control its output in a control system.
Open System in
management science is a system that is capable of
self-maintenance on the basis of throughput of resources from the
environment.
Open and Closed System in
social
science are systems that allow interactions between their internal
elements and the environment. An open system is defined as a system
in exchange of matter with its environment, presenting import and
export, building-up and breaking-down of its material components.
Open System of Learning,

Open Educational Resources are freely accessible,
openly licensed documents and media that are useful for teaching,
learning, and assessing as well as for research purposes. It is the
leading trend in distance education/open and distance learning domain as a
consequence of the openness movement. There is no universal usage of open
file formats in OER.

ACT Test abbreviation of
American College Testing,
is a college readiness assessment, a standardized test for high school
achievement and college admissions in the United States produced by ACT, a
nonprofit of the same name. The ACT originally consisted of four tests:
English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Natural Sciences. In 1989
however, the Social Studies test was changed into a Reading section (which
included a social sciences subsection) and the Natural Sciences test was
renamed the Science Reasoning test, with more emphasis on problem-solving
skills as opposed to memorizing scientific facts. In February 2005, an
optional Writing test was added to the ACT, mirroring changes to the SAT
that took place in March of the same year. In 2013, ACT announced that
students would be able to take the ACT by computer starting in the spring
of 2015; however, by the fall of 2017, computer-based ACT tests were
available only for school-day testing at limited school districts in the
US, with greater availability not expected until at least the fall of
2018.
Articulation in edication is the process of
comparing the content of
courses that are transferred between postsecondary institutions such as
TAFE institutes, colleges or universities. In other words, course
articulation is the process by which one institution matches its courses
or requirements to course work completed at another institution. Students
use course articulation to assure that courses they complete will not have
to be repeated at the institution to which they are transferring.

standardized examination for prospective medical students in the United
States, Australia, Canada, and Caribbean Islands. It is designed to assess
problem solving, critical thinking, written analysis and knowledge of
scientific concepts and principles. Prior to 2006, the exam was a
paper-and-pencil test; since 2007, all administrations of the exam have
been computer-based. The most recent version of the exam was introduced in
April 2015 and takes 7.5 hours to complete. The test is scored in a range
from 472 to 528.

Graduate Management Admission Test is intended to assess certain
analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written
English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an
MBA. It requires knowledge of certain specific grammar and knowledge of
certain specific algebra, geometry, and arithmetic. According to the test
owning company, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the GMAT
assesses analytical writing and problem-solving abilities, while also
addressing data sufficiency, logic, and critical reasoning skills that it
believes to be vital to real-world business and management success. It can
be taken up to five times a year. Attempts must be at least 16 days apart.
GRE

is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for
most Graduate Schools in the United States. Aims to measure verbal
reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing, and critical
thinking skills that have been acquired over a long period of learning.
The content of the GRE consists of certain specific algebra, geometry,
arithmetic, and vocabulary.

Ireland.
Remedial Education as developmental education, basic skills education,
compensatory education, preparatory education, and academic upgrading) is
signed to assist students in order to achieve expected competencies in
core academic skills such as literacy and numeracy.
College Degree
or academic degree, is a qualification awarded on
successful completion of a course of study in higher education, normally
at a college or university.
SAT or ACT scores discriminates against
applicants on the basis of race and wealth and are deeply biased
and provide no meaningful information about a student's ability to
succeed, and therefore their requirement is unconstitutional. What the SAT
and ACT are doing are exacerbating inequities in the public school system
and keeping out deserving students every admissions cycle. Research has
since shown that SAT scores are strongly linked to family income, and a
student's high school academic record, regardless of what school they
attended, does a far better job of predicting college success. In 2019,
nearly 50 schools dropped the standardized tests from admissions
requirements, according to the
National Center for
Fair and Open Testing.

Test Drive CollegeWhy so many poor
kids who get into college don’t end up enrolling. Every spring,
millions of students graduate high school with every intention of attending
college. By the fall, an astounding portion of them never show up to
college, it's called “summer melt.” Reason, there is little motivation,
they will only learn things related to a particular job. They will not
become more intelligent, or have a better understanding of themselves and
the world around them. If your only reward is a life of servitude then
what's the point. If what you're serving does more harm then good, then
there is no point. This is another reason why education needs to improve
drastically. Students need to see the whole picture and understand what it
means, if not, even if you go to college, you will never fully understand
yourself and the world around you and will most likely just pretend that
you know enough about things, which means that you will stop learning.
There is no such thing as being
overeducated. You could have education that is not beneficial to
you because you hardly ever use that knowledge or information, or you
could have education that is not valuable to a particular employer.

Degree is an
award that is
conferred or
validated by a college
or university
signifying that the recipient has
satisfactorily
completed a

study. Degree can also mean a position on a
scale of
intensity, amount or quality
or the seriousness of something. The highest
power of a term or variable. A specific identifiable position in a
continuum, series, especially in a process. Degree can also mean a
measure
for arcs and angles. A

Law Degree.
Bachelor's Degree is an undergraduate academic degree awarded by
colleges and universities upon completion of a course of study lasting
three to seven years (depending on institution and academic discipline).
The two most common bachelor's degrees are the
Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the
Bachelor of Science (BS or BSc). In some institutions and educational
systems, some bachelor's degrees can only be taken as graduate or
postgraduate degrees after a first degree has been completed. In countries
with qualifications frameworks, bachelor's degrees are normally one of the
major levels in the framework (sometimes two levels where non-honours and
honours bachelor's degrees are considered separately), although some
qualifications titled bachelor's degrees may be at other levels (e.g.,
MBBS) and some qualifications with non-bachelor's titles may be classified
as bachelor's degrees (e.g. the Scottish MA and Canadian MD).
Bachelor of General Studies is an undergraduate academic degree
offered by many colleges and universities in the Western world. A BGS
program allows students to design a unique degree plan while meeting their
academic institution's general requirements. A BGS holds the same value as
other degrees in liberal arts or sciences, such as the Bachelor of Arts
and Bachelor of Science degrees, and is often regarded as an
interdisciplinary degree. In the United States, hundreds of colleges and
universities offer BGS programs. Students can typically choose from
concentrations in a variety of areas.
Educational Attainment is a term commonly used by statisticians to
refer to the

Certification and Accreditation
is a process for implementing any formal process. It is a
systematic
procedure for
evaluating, describing, testing and authorizing systems or
activities prior to or after a system is in operation. The C&A process is
used extensively across the world.
Accreditation
is the process in which
certification of
competency, authority,
or
credibility is
presented. Organizations that issue credentials or certify third parties
against official standards are themselves formally accredited by
accreditation bodies (such as UKAS); hence they are sometimes known as
"accredited certification bodies". The accreditation process ensures that
their certification practices are acceptable, typically meaning that they
are competent to test and
certify third
parties, behave ethically and employ suitable
quality assurance.
Accredited is something that has been given
official approval to act. To grant credentials to something or ascribe an
achievement to something.

Be Very Aware that some online academic degrees
are fraudulent and that every state varies in terms of what degrees they will
accept. Make sure your online academic school is
accredited by an agency recognized by the
U.S.
Department of Education.
Please find out what your
professional licensure requirements are before taking
courses. And remember that
Accreditation is not a measurement of
worth or need. Having a degree does not mean
that you're
intelligent. There
is no degree for intelligence or a PhD in Intelligence or a Masters in
Smart. But there is a
Intelligence
Studies, which does not study intelligence for some reason. Almost 4

Certification refers to the

Board
Certification
is the process by which a physician or other
professional in the United States demonstrates a mastery of basic
knowledge and
skills through written, practical, or
simulator-based
testing.
Product Certification is the process of certifying that a
certain product has
passed performance tests and quality assurance tests,
and meets qualification criteria stipulated in contracts, regulations, or
specifications (typically called "certification schemes" in the product
certification industry).
Professional Certification is a designation earned by a
person to
assure qualification to perform a job or task. Not all
certifications that use post-nominal letters are an acknowledgement of
educational achievement, or an agency appointed to
safeguard the public
interest.
Professional
Degree is a degree that prepares someone to work in a particular
profession, often, but not always, meeting the
academic requirements for licensure or accreditation. Professional degrees
may be either graduate or undergraduate entry, depending on the profession
concerned and the country, and may be classified as bachelor's, master's
or doctoral degrees. For a variety of reasons, professional degrees may
bear the name of a different level of qualification from their
classification in qualifications frameworks, e.g. some UK professional
degrees are named bachelor's but are at master's level, while some
Australian and Canadian professional degrees have the name "doctor" but
are classified as master's or bachelor's degrees.
Just because it's credited course does
not mean that the course is right for you or even important to
your goals. Credited does not mean
that the course will benefit you. Credited does not mean that
you could have learned this information on your own. Credited
means that you are simply buying a piece of paper that only
proves that you paid someone else to help you acquire some
information, and not that you fully understand how to correctly
use this information to solve problems. A person does not need a
piece of paper to work or to make a difference. If someone only
excepts that piece of paper then they are in on the crime and
in on the fraud. You simply paid your way in instead of earning
your way in. There is no difference between a credited course
and someone who self taught themselves. But proving that to an
employer may be difficult, but not impossible.
Accreditation Standards themselves are not
accredited or certified. They might say they are, and they might
have someone's stamp of approval, but that does not guarantee
quality or accuracy. Too many people are mislead, and these are
the people who are supposed to be educating you. Unless you can
review the guidelines and standards that are used in determining
accreditation, and you fully understand them, there's no way to
verify the quality or the accuracy of an accreditation.

Credentials is an attestation of qualification,
competence,
or authority issued to an individual by a third party with a relevant or
de facto authority or assumed competence to do so. Examples of credentials
include academic diplomas, academic degrees, certifications, security
clearances, identification documents, badges, passwords, user names, keys,
powers of attorney, and so on. Sometimes publications, such as scientific
papers or books, may be viewed as similar to credentials by some people,
especially if the publication was
peer reviewed or made in a well-known
journal or reputable publisher.
Discipline is a branch of knowledge and a
system of rules of conduct or method of
practice. Training to improve strength or
self-control.
Academic Discipline is a
branch of knowledge,
taught and researched as part of higher education. It incorporates
expertise, people, projects, communities, challenges, studies, inquiry,
research areas, and facilities that are strongly associated with a given
scholastic subject area or college department. Individuals associated with
academic disciplines are commonly referred to as experts or
specialists. While academic disciplines in and of themselves are more or
less focused practices, scholarly approaches such as
multi-disciplinarily,
interdisciplinarity, transdisciplinarity, and
cross-disciplinarily
integrate aspects from multiple academic disciplines, therefore addressing
any problems that may arise from narrow concentration within specialized
fields of study. For example, professionals may encounter trouble
communicating across academic disciplines because of differences in
language or specified concepts. Some researchers believe that academic
disciplines may be replaced by what is known as Mode 2 or "post-academic
science", which involves the acquisition of cross-disciplinary knowledge
through collaboration of specialists from various academic disciplines.
Graduate School is a
school
that awards advanced academic degrees (i.e. master's and doctoral degrees)
with the general requirement that students must have earned a previous
undergraduate (bachelor's) degree with a high grade point average. A distinction is typically
made between graduate schools (where courses of study vary in the degree
to which they provide training for a particular profession) and
professional schools, which offer specialized advanced degrees in
professional fields such as medicine, nursing, business, engineering, or
law. The distinction between graduate schools and professional schools is
not absolute, as various professional schools offer graduate degrees
(e.g., some nursing schools offer a master's degree in nursing). Also,
some graduate degrees train students for a specific profession (e.g. an
MSc or a PhD in epidemiology trains a person to be an epidemiologist).
Undergraduate Education is the post-secondary education previous to
the postgraduate education. It includes all the academic programs up to
the level of a bachelor's degree. For example, in the United States an
entry level university student is known as an undergraduate, while
students of higher degrees are known as graduates. In some other
educational systems and subjects, undergraduate education is
post-secondary education up to the level of a master's degree; this is the
case for some science courses in Britain and some medicine courses in
Europe.
Postgraduate Education involves learning and studying for academic or
professional degrees, academic or professional certificates, academic or
professional diplomas, or other qualifications for which a first or
bachelor's degree generally is required, and it is normally considered to
be part of higher education. In North America, this level is generally
referred to as graduate school.
Academic Minor is a college or university student's declared
secondary academic discipline during their
undergraduate studies. As with a major, the college or university in
question lays out a framework of required classes or class types a student
must complete to earn the minor – although the latitude the student is
given changes from college to college. Academic minors and majors differ
in that the former is subordinate to the latter - fewer courses are
required to complete a minor program of study than a major program of
study. To obtain an academic minor, a total of three years of study at a
university in a selected subject is the usual requirement. Some students
will prepare for their intended career with their major, while pursuing
personal interests with a minor, for example, majoring in civil
engineering while minoring in a foreign language or performing arts. Other
students may pursue a minor to provide specific specialization and thus
make themselves more attractive to employers. It is not infrequent for a
physics major to minor in computer science, or an engineering or economics
student to minor in mathematics. Students intending to become secondary
education teachers often major in their teaching subject area (for
example, history or chemistry) and minor in education.
Major in academic is the academic discipline to which an undergraduate
student formally commits. A student who successfully completes all courses
established in an academic major qualifies for an undergraduate degree.
The word "major" is also sometimes used administratively to refer to the
academic discipline pursued by a graduate student or postgraduate student
in a master's or doctoral program. The term may also apply to a focused
field of an academic discipline that a student chooses at the doctoral
studies level.
Master's Degree is a second-cycle academic degree awarded by
universities upon completion of a course of study demonstrating
mastery or a
high-order overview of a specific field of study or area of professional
practice. A master's degree normally requires
previous study at the bachelor's level,
either as a separate degree or as part of an
integrated course. Within the
area studied, master's graduates are expected to possess advanced
knowledge of a specialized body of theoretical and applied topics; high
order skills in analysis, critical evaluation, or professional
application; and the ability to solve complex problems and think
rigorously and
independently.
Research.
Master of Business Administration or MBA, is a
master's degree in business administration management. The MBA
degree originated in the United States in the early 20th century
when the country industrialized and companies sought
scientific
approaches to management. The core courses in an MBA program
cover various areas of business such as accounting, finance,
marketing, human resources, and
operations in a manner most
relevant to management analysis and strategy. Most programs also
include elective courses. The MBA is a terminal degree and a
professional degree. Accreditation bodies specifically for MBA
programs ensure consistency and quality of education. Business
schools in many countries offer programs tailored to full-time,
part-time, executive, and distance learning students, many with
specialized concentrations.
Terminal
Degree is a university degree that is either highest on the
academic track or highest on the professional track in a given field of
study. The phrase "terminal degree" is used heavily in the United States,
but is used less often outside of North America. The term is not generally
used in the United Kingdom or Canada, for example, and its exact meaning
varies somewhat between those areas and disciplines in which the term is
used. An earned academic (or research) doctorate such as a Doctor
of Philosophy (PhD) is considered the terminal degree in most
academic fields of study in the United States.
Honorary is to confer or grant as an honor,
without the usual requirements, functions or normal duties.
Honorary Degree is an academic degree for which a university
or other degree-awarding institution has
waived the usual requirements,
such as
matriculation,
residence, a
dissertation and the passing of
comprehensive examinations.
Adjunct Professor is an academic rank below the highest
level of
professorship.
Teacher.
Master of Research degree is an internationally recognized
advanced postgraduate research degree. In most cases, the degree is
designed to prepare students for doctoral research. Increasingly, the
degree may be useful for students considering careers outside of academia,
where high-level research skills are valued but a doctoral qualification
is not required.
Doctorate is an academic degree awarded by universities that is, in
most countries, a research degree that
qualifies the holder to teach at
the university level in the degree's field, or to work in a specific
profession. There are a variety of doctoral degrees, with the most common
being the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), which is awarded in many different
fields, ranging from the humanities to the scientific disciplines.
List of Doctoral Degrees in the US (wiki).
Doctor of Philosophy is the
highest academic degree awarded by
universities in most countries.
PhD's are
awarded for programs across the whole breadth of academic fields. The
completion of a PhD is often a requirement for employment as a university
professor, researcher, or scientist in many fields. Individuals who have
earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree may, in most jurisdictions, use the
title
Doctor (often abbreviated "Dr") or, in non-English speaking
countries, variants such as "Dr. phil." with their name, and may use
post-nominal letters such as "Ph.D.", "PhD" (depending on the awarding
institute).
Having a PhD can have a significant
advantage. PhDs get paid higher than non-PhDs and people with PhDs
are in high demand. Trained professionals who
know
how to create information, not just repackage it, are desperately
needed. The top three desired skills for every industry position are
critical thinking, complex problem solving, and correct decision-making.
Benefits include a set of transferable skills:
problem-solving, critical
reasoning, thinking in-depth and
from different angles and perspectives.
To earn a Ph.D. students have to conceive of new projects. They each have
to
organize the information and material to develop a project. They must
perform the experiment, obtain data, separate out the reliable data from
the untrustworthy data, and analyze it. They then have to prepare a clear,
readable scientific paper that explains what they did, how they analyzed
the data, and what the results were. It is not important that they made or
did not make a discovery. The work should be such that it advanced the
field. They can devise a new experiment, but if that experiment takes too
many years to develop, then they can analyze the data from a different
experiment. In the end, having accomplished all these tasks, the students
have shown capability of doing scientific work under their own direction,
without needing the supervision of someone else. That is the goal of the
Ph.D. program.
Doctor of Education is a
doctoral degree that has a research
focus in the field of education. It prepares the holder for academic,
research, administrative, clinical or professional positions in
educational, civil, private organizations or public institutions.
Intellectual Work is any activity which involves
making sense of the

Niche is a
position particularly well suited to the person who occupies it. A small
concavity. An enclosure that is set back or indented. Niche in ecology is
the status of an organism within its

License
means to give
permission as well as to the document recording that
permission. A license may be granted by a party ("licensor") to another
party ("licensee") as an element of an agreement between those parties. A
shorthand definition of a license is "an authorization (by the
licensor)
to use the licensed material (by the licensee)."
Freedom
versus License. There exists a distinction between the concepts of
freedom and license. The former deals with the
rights of the individual; the
latter covers the
expressed
permission (or lack thereof) for more than one individual to engage in
an activity. As a result, freedoms usually include rights which are
usually recognized (often, not always, in an unconditional manner) by the
government (and access to which is theoretically enforced against any and
all interferences). Licenses, on the other hand, are distributed to
individuals who make use of a specific item, expressing the permission to
use the item or service under specified, conditional terms and boundaries
of usage.
Occupational Licensing is a form of government regulation requiring a
license to pursue a particular profession or vocation for
compensation. Professions that can have a large negative effect on
individuals, like physicians and lawyers, require occupational licenses in
most developed countries, but many jurisdictions also require licenses for
professions without that possibility, like plumbers, taxi drivers, and
electricians. Licensing creates a regulatory barrier to entry into
licensed occupations, and this results in higher income for those with
licenses and usually higher costs for consumers. Licensing advocates argue
that it protects the public interest by keeping incompetent and
unscrupulous individuals from working with the public. However, there is
little evidence that it affects the overall quality of services provided
to customers by members of the regulated occupation.
We require
people to have a drivers license in order to prove that they know how to

Resume (qualifications).
Professional
Professional is a
skilled and
knowledgeable member of a profession or any person who earns their
living from a specified
professional activity. The term also describes the
standards of education and
training that prepare members of the profession
with the particular
knowledge and skills necessary to perform their specific role within that
profession. In addition, most professionals are subject to strict
codes of conduct, enshrining rigorous ethical and moral obligations.
Professional standards
of practice and ethics for a particular field are typically agreed
upon and maintained through widely recognized professional associations,
such as the IEEE. Some definitions of "professional" limit this term to
those professions that serve some important aspect of public interest and the general
good of society.

Professional Ethics encompasses the personal and
corporate standards
of behavior expected by professionals. Knowledge should be governed when
providing a service to the public. A person should be capable of making
good judgments, applying their skills, and reaching informed decisions in
situations that the general public cannot because they have not attained
the necessary knowledge and skills. One of the earliest examples of
professional ethics is the Hippocratic oath to which medical doctors still
adhere to this day.

Informally, an expert is someone
widely recognized as a
reliable source
of technique or
skill whose
faculty for judging or deciding rightly, justly, or wisely is accorded
authority and status by peers or the public in a specific
well-distinguished domain. An expert, more generally, is a person with
extensive knowledge or ability based on
research,
experience, or occupation
and in a particular area of study. Experts are called in for advice on
their respective subject, but they do not always agree on the particulars
of a field of study. An expert can be believed, by virtue of credential,
training, education, profession, publication or experience, to have
special knowledge of a subject beyond that of the average person,
sufficient that others may officially (and legally) rely upon the
individual's opinion. Historically, an expert was referred to as a sage
(Sophos). The individual was usually a profound thinker distinguished for
wisdom and sound judgment.
Expertise is the
skillfulness by virtue of possessing special knowledge.
Subject-Matter Expert is a person who is an authority in a particular
area or topic. Subject Matter Experts are defined as those individuals
with specific expertise and responsibility in a particular area or field
(for example, quality unit, engineering, automation, development,
operations). Subject Matter Experts should take the lead role in the
verification of manufacturing systems as appropriate within their area of
expertise and responsibility.
Domain Expert is a person with special knowledge or skills in a
particular area of endeavor (e.g. an accountant is an expert in the domain
of accountancy). The development of accounting software requires knowledge
in two different domains: accounting and software. Some of the development
workers may be experts in one domain and not the other.

It tried
to hide from your love light,
But like heaven above me, The spy who
loved me,

And nobody does it
better,
Though sometimes I wish someone could,
Nobody does it quite
the way you do,
Why'd you have to be so good?
The way that you hold
me, Whenever you hold me,
There's some kind of magic inside you.
That keeps me from runnin', But just keep it comin',
How'd you learn to
do the things you do?
Oh, and nobody does it better, Makes me feel sad
for the rest.
Nobody does it half as good as you, Baby, baby, darlin',

Speak the language of love like you know what it means,
Mm,
and it can't be wrong, take my heart and make it strong, babe.
You're
simply the best, better than all the rest,
Better than anyone, anyone I
ever met,
I'm stuck on your heart, I hang on every word you say,
Tear us apart, baby, I would rather be dead,
In your heart I see the
start of every night and every day,
In your eyes I get lost, I get
washed away,
Just as long here in your arms I could be in no better
place,
You're simply the best, better than all the rest,
Better than
anyone, anyone I ever met,
I'm stuck on your heart, I hang on every
word you say,
Tear us apart, baby, I would rather be dead,
Each time
you leave me I start losing control,
You're walking away with my heart
and my soul,
I can feel you even when I'm alone,
Oh, baby, don't let

You're the best, better than all the rest,
Better than anyone,

I'm stuck on your heart,

Brain Drain - Have Education Will Travel
Human Capital Flight refers to the
emigration of individuals who have
received advanced training at home.
Brain Drain can occur when
scientists, engineers, or other intellectual elites migrate to a more
developed country to learn in its universities, perform research, or gain
working experience in areas where education and employment opportunities
are limited in their home country. These professionals then return to
their home country after several years of experience to start a related
business, teach in a university, or work for a multi-national in their
home country. Their return is this "
Reverse Brain
Drain". The occurrence of reverse brain drain mostly depends on the
state of the country's development, and also strategies and planning over
a long period of time to reverse the migration. Countries that are
attractive to returning intelligentsia will naturally develop migration
policies to attract foreign academics, professionals and executives. This
would also require these countries to develop an environment which will
provide rewarding opportunities for those who have attained the knowledge
and skills from overseas. In the past, many of the immigrants from
developing countries chose to work and live permanently in developed
countries; however, the recent economic growth that has been occurring
back in their home countries—and the difficulty of attaining long-term
work visas—has caused many of the immigrants to return home. The net benefits of human capital
flight for the receiving country are sometimes referred to as a "
brain
gain" whereas the net costs for the sending country are sometimes referred
to as a "
brain drain". In occupations that experience a surplus of
graduates, immigration of foreign-trained professionals can aggravate the
underemployment of domestic graduates. Research shows that there are
significant economic benefits of human capital flight both for the
migrants themselves and those who remain in the country of origin. It has
been found that emigration of skilled individuals to the developed world
contributes to greater education and innovation in the developing world.
Research also suggests that emigration, remittances and return migration
can have a positive impact on democratization and the quality
political institutions in the country of origin.
Skill Sharing -
Temp Work.
Reverse Brain Drain is a form of brain drain where human capital moves
in reverse from a more developed country to a less developed country that
is developing rapidly. These migrants may accumulate savings, also known
as
remittances, and develop skills overseas that can be used in their home
country.
Over Qualified -
Undermatching.
When the worlds best scientists and best engineers are
lured into by high paying jobs that do more harm than good, then we are
wasting our brain power on the love of money. This brain drain is killing
our potential. This ignorant practice is not part of our
National Interest or part of our country's goals and ambitions.
BK101 is a Brain Drain Equalizer,
because BK101 is a Brain Gain to any person who has access to valuable
knowledge and information. So no matter where you are or where you go, you
will always be a benefit to the entire world. And on top of that, you will
be more aware of where you're needed the most and where you can create the most value to the world.
Elective Courses - Required Courses
Elective Course is one chosen by a student from a number of
optional subjects or
courses in a curriculum, as opposed to a
required
course which the student must take. While required
courses (sometimes called "
core
courses" or "general education courses") are deemed
essential for an
academic degree, elective courses tend to be
more specialized. Elective courses usually have fewer students
than the required courses. Are schools discouraging
Self-Directed Learning?
Extracurricular Activity are those that fall
outside the realm of the
normal curriculum of school or university education, performed by
students. Extracurricular activities exist for all students. Such
activities are generally voluntary as opposed to mandatory, social,
philanthropic, and often involve others of the same age. Students and
staff direct these activities under faculty sponsorship, although
student-led initiatives, such as independent newspapers, are very common.
Extension Program is a department

Typically, North American universities require
students to achieve both
the
Understanding of knowledge across disciplines and the depth
of knowledge in a particular chosen subject area, known as a major. Thus,
students of the Arts or Humanities are required to take some science
courses, and vice versa. Normally, students are free to choose their
particular electives from among a wide range of courses offered by their
university, as long as the students possess the prerequisite knowledge to
understand the subject matter being taught. An English major, for example,
might also study one or two years of chemistry, biology or physics as well
as mathematics and a foreign language.
Simultaneous Subject Teaching
An elective represents a unique opportunity for medical
students, allowing them to experience healthcare in a setting
unfamiliar to that in which they are accustomed to studying, and
also provides the opportunity for medical students to develop
their skills by observing and participating in healthcare
overseas. Classically, students embark on elective placements
abroad, often in the developing world, or other countries where
scientific, social, economic or cultural standards differ from
those found in the country where the student's medical school is
situated. However, as electives can be expensive, some students
opt for elective placements in the same country as their
university. Aside from providing experience of differing
practices, electives also allow students to encounter medical
conditions they are less used to seeing at home. In addition,
students often retrospectively describe how their placements
broadened their horizons with regards to the social issues
affecting healthcare in developing countries.
Elective in medical is a placement undertaken as part of a
medical degree. The content and setting of the placement are largely
decided by the student undertaking it, hence the name. Elective placements
are not exclusive to medical degrees; many other degree programs within
the field of healthcare also incorporate electives (such as nursing,
dentistry and physiotherapy) and the format is often the same.
As longs as every student knows what the most valuable knowledge
and skills are, that are needed to learn, they should be given
choices and options, and be given the
flexibility to learn about something that they feel like learning about.
"Your Major should be "How not to be Ignorant 101".
Non-Credit Course - Academic Credit - College Credit
Recognition of Prior Learning evaluates skills and knowledge acquired
outside the classroom for the purpose of recognizing competence against a
given set of standards, competencies, or learning outcomes.
Competence.
Transfer Credit is granting credit to a student for educational
experiences or courses undertaken at another institution. This is a subset
of Recognition of Prior Learning (which also includes prior work or
non-institutional experience for credit). "Advanced standing" is also used
to describe the status of a student granted credit, as distinct from
normal course entrants who commence the stream of study at the beginning.
Course Equivalency is the term used in higher education describing how
a course offered by one college or university
relates to another course
offered by another school.
Credit -
Approval is the recognition by a college or university that a course of studies
has been successfully completed; typically measured in semester
hours. Ascribe an achievement to. Give someone credit for
something. Have trust in; trust in the truth or veracity of.
Entry Testing.
Semester Hour is a unit of
academic credit; one hour a week for an academic semester.
Course Credit Accreditation
Non-Credit Course sounds like an
oxymoron, where's the
value? Are you taking a
course for no reason?
Course Credit has the same danger as giving
awards or a
medals. Someone assigns
value to something, but they do not tell you how they
calculated the value, whether it is a course credit, or a
trophy, or a medal, or an award, or money, or an art work.
A False Sense of Worth, what kind of education is that?
Credible is being capable of being believed or
trustworthy. Appearing to merit
belief or acceptance.
Valid -
Expert.
Recognition is generally approved or compelling recognition. Provided with a
secure
reputation. The state or quality of being recognized or

Something providing immaterial assistance to a person or cause
or interest. Give moral or psychological support, aid, or
courage to. Supporting structure that holds up or provides a
foundation. The act of bearing the weight of or strengthening.
Justify is to show to be reasonable or provide adequate ground for. A rational
motive for a belief or action. Instruct someone in the
fundamentals of a subject.
Purpose.
Reason is the capacity for rational thought or inference or
discrimination. The state of having good sense and sound
judgment. A justification for something existing or happening. A
fact that
logically
justifies some premise or conclusion. Think logically. Capable of or
reflecting the capability for correct and valid reasoning. Based on known
statements or events or conditions. Capable of thinking and expressing
yourself in a clear and consistent manner.
Reasoning.
News about Certifications. Veteran teacher Ann Marie Corgill, Alabama's reigning Teacher of
the Year says she has resigned after state officials told her
she's unqualified to teach in her fifth-grade classroom because
of certification issues, despite her well-documented
accomplishments. Corgill has Class A and B certifications to
teach primary school through third grade.
Extra
Credit is a way to gain points, particularly used in schools. Students
who are highly capable may benefit from an additional challenge that might
not be suitable as required work for all students. Extra credit may also
be used as a way to allow a student to improve his or her grade after a
weak performance earlier in a course. In both of these cases, extra credit
can promote differentiated instruction by factoring in optional work in
the assessment of student performance.
Higher Education Reform
Higher

Higher education, also called post-secondary education, third-level or
tertiary education, is an optional final stage of formal learning that
occurs after completion of
secondary education. It represents levels 6, 7 and 8 of the 2011
version of the International Standard Classification of Education
structure. Tertiary education at a
non-degree level
is sometimes referred to as further education or continuing education as
distinct from higher education. Individuals with more years of education
generally have more abilities and skills needed to acquire more training
later on in life.
America has the lowest college completion rate in the developed
world, at least among the 18 countries tracked by the
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Only 55 percent of first-time undergraduates who matriculated in
the fall of 2008 finished a degree within six years, versus 56.1
percent of those who began in fall 2007. According
to a new report from the
National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, barely half,
52.9 percent, of students who enrolled in fall 2009 had earned a
bachelor’s or associate degree six years later. That’s down from a
completion rate of 56.1 percent for the students who enrolled in 2007.
(
Graduation rates were especially low for students at
for-profit
colleges.) In our community colleges, 80 percent don't get a college
degree. The chief reason is that 70 percent fail remedial math.
And even in our four-year colleges, 40 percent don't get B.A.s
[after 6 years]. And the biggest reason is they fail freshman
math.
College Sports Scam (follow the
money).
Between 40% and 60% of first-year college students in the United States
require remedial help in English, math, or both. Costing students and
their families in all 50 states close to $1.3 billion each year. Schools
should have taught this in high school, schools are failing everyone
tremendously.

Not only are the schools under educating
students, the students who are smart enough to educate themselves
outside the schools and universities, end up having their
intelligence
exploited by big corporations. Too many companies are wasting the brain
power and the potential of our brightest students. Luring them in with
high paying jobs that under utilize their efforts and their potential
while wasting their intelligence on bogus projects that do more harm to
society then good. The human race is being systematically murdered on both
ends. Dumbing down the masses on one end, and stealing the smart ones on
the other end.

Adults? If going to

using the age of a person as the only way to determine if someone is an

need a

are still just the spoiled brat and ignorant child that they have never

Even if you do graduate, getting a
job is not a guarantee.
Even if you do graduate, this doesn't mean that you have the
necessary skills to work for a particular employer.
Excellent Sheep is a 2015 book of social criticism on the role of
elite colleges in American society written by William Deresiewicz and
published by Free Press.
Higher education, or going to college or to a university is not
a waste of time, because there are many benefits that come
from continuing your education. Studies have shown that college
graduates are healthier and are less likely to get divorced.
College graduates also earn more money and have more job
opportunities. But of course this is not say that college
graduates do good things with the money they earn, or don't
earn, or does it say that the jobs they performed actually made
a difference in the world, because
to many graduates add to the
slow decline of our species, and they also do more harm then
good to our world. And they don't even know this because they had an
inadequate education. When you ask a college student why they want to go
to college, most of them answer to make money and to get a good job. But
what students should be saying is that the main reason to go to college is
to make improvements to the world, and to make a difference. Too many
Colleges and Universities make outrageous claims about what kind of
benefits students will get, but once you ask them exactly how they will
accomplish some of those claims, you will find out they have no idea.
Going to College Does Not a Guarantee a Job or Higher
Income
Most kids give the same reason for going to college, which is to
make money. That means they proved one thing, that they were
ignorant before they even started college. Money is not a
reason, making a difference in the world is a reason. So how do
you plan to improve the world? Will the knowledge and skills
that you're seeking provide you with the tools to achieve your
goals? If the reason is to get a better job, then will the job you get
make a difference in the world? If the reason is to have more
opportunities, then what opportunities are you seeking that are
proven to make a difference?

Paraprofessional Educator is a teaching-related position
within a school generally responsible for specialized or concentrated
assistance for students in elementary and secondary schools.
Paraprofessional educators generally assist teachers in the classroom,
supervise students outside of the classroom, or provide administrative
support for teaching. Job duties range from filling teaching positions to
supplementing regular classroom curriculum with additional enrichment
activities for students. Other positions include classroom aides, special
education aides, school library technical assistants, and tutors. Provide
one-on-one tutoring if such tutoring is scheduled at a time when a student
would not otherwise receive instruction from a teacher, Assist with
classroom management, such as by organizing instructional materials,
Provide instructional assistance in a computer laboratory, Conduct
parental involvement activities, Provide instructional support in a
library or media center, Act as a translator, or Provide instructional
support services under the direct supervision of a highly qualified
teacher.
Stipend is a form of salary, such as for an internship or
apprenticeship. It is often distinct from a wage or a salary because it
does not necessarily represent payment for work performed; instead it
represents a payment that enables somebody to be exempt partly or wholly
from waged or salaried employment in order to undertake a role that is
normally unpaid or voluntary, or which cannot be measured in terms of a
task. Stipends are usually lower than what would be expected as a
permanent salary for similar work, because sometimes the stipend is
complemented by other benefits such as accreditation, instruction, food,
and/or accommodation.
Todays schools should not be allowed to use the word "education" when describing what
they do, they should just call it
job training. This way everyone would know that they still
need education and knowledge, and not some form of
Re-education.
90% of College Graduates are only educated enough to get a
particular job. People with degrees are not educated enough to
fully understand the world and the system on which they feed. So
they will never have the abilities to improve society, or will
they ever be aware of the damage that they are doing to themselves
and the world around them. Providing a service to people should
never include killing people, polluting the water or destroying
the land. College Grads need to look at the entire scope of
their life and all of its impacts. And they should at the least
have enough skills to do that, hopefully.
Count the Things that Matter (capstone)
Schools say they teach
good work skills and good work ethics, but they don't. This
is a fraudulent marketing technique to
scam students and parents out of their money, and at the same time, give them an
inadequate education. You should ask schools where in the
curriculum does this knowledge come from? And how do you test
for these skills? Schools are lying. I guess that's part of the
lesson. Schools are letting you know that there are people in
the world that will say anything to take your money. What fools
have we become.

to remember that 99% of Universities and Community Colleges are only interested money,
they are not interested in your future, unless that future is
about them getting more money from you, or about creating more
ways of controlling your behavior. That seems to be the whole
point of this dysfunctional education system that we have, which
is to keep students ignorant to the truth, a truth that even the
people in power don't have, because if they did, we would not be
in this mess.
"This is not to discourage you from learning, this is about awareness"

Sophism
is using the techniques of philosophy and rhetoric for the purpose of
teaching arete—"excellence" or "virtue"—predominantly to young statesmen
and nobility. The practice of
charging money for education and providing
wisdom only to those who could pay led to the condemnations made by
Socrates (as he is portrayed by Plato in his dialogues) as well as
Xenophon's Memorabilia. Through works such as these, Sophists were
portrayed as "specious" or "deceptive", hence the modern meaning of the
term.
In the last 10 years 300 Billion of taxpayer dollars from
Pell Grants went to college students who never end up with a
diploma, only 40 percent Pell recipients graduate, the national
average is 60 percent. So we allow colleges and universities to
steal money, not surprised, that's one of the things schools
teach, is how to steal. But even with a diploma you are still
not learning enough? Schools steal, Schools don't teach enough,
so what's the lesson here? Your education system is
dysfunctional, corrupt and inadequate. The
investment in education is only valuable when the education
is valuable, and a guarantee. How can you take money to educate
someone and then end up not educating them?

defining what those skills are and how to teach them needs to be addressed
now, today.
Not only do
colleges and Universities steal students money,
but when the students walk away in disgust, the schools then stab the
students in the back with student debt. And on top of that, the schools do
not teach enough knowledge and skills in order for students to do the work
that they would like to do. This is a scam, because colleges failed to
deliver what they promised, which is educated intellectuals who are
prepared for the challenges of life, and have the ability to solve every
problem on the planet. Money is just a tool, it does not calculate the
true value of the knowledge and skills being taught. And of course schools
are not going to teach students just how ignorant the system is, so
students will not have the necessary knowledge and information in order to
fix this problem. The cycle of ignorance continues.

is inadequate and dysfunctional.

of college, with a large sample of more than 2,300 students, we
observe
no statistically significant gains in
critical thinking, complex reasoning and writing skills

students how to solve the problems that they will face, then
that's not education, that's retardation. Education does not
erase the wealth divide, or erase racism, because education
itself does not address these problems. So students will never
be able to solve these problems unless they learn how to solve
them. Put that in your curriculum.

Investing
Investment is the act of giving
time, energy or effort with the expectation of some worthwhile
result and
benefit. A
delayed gratification from
work done in the past. Investment is the commitment of time,
energy, or effort to a project with the expectation of some
worthwhile result.

Invest is to give qualities or abilities to
a
future potential.
To spend money, time, or energy on something, especially for
some benefit or
purpose. To
furnish someone with power or authority who possesses qualities that are
required to do something or to get something done. Freedom from doubt and
a belief in yourself and your abilities.
Inputs and
Outputs.
Return on Investment are the benefits that comes from previously
invested time, effort or money that was given at an earlier time. Like
investing in your education, the return on your investment would be
acquiring high quality skills that would produce needed
value and a higher
paying job.
Return on Investment is the benefit to an investor resulting
from an
investment of some resource. A high
ROI means the investment gains compare favorably to investment cost. As a
performance measure, ROI is used to evaluate the efficiency of an
investment or to compare the efficiency of a number of different
investments. In purely economic terms, it is one way of considering
profits in relation to capital invested.
Rate of Return is a
profit
on an investment. It comprises any change in
value and
interest or dividends or other such cash flows which the investor
receives from the investment. It may be measured either in absolute terms
(e.g., dollars) or as a percentage of the amount invested. The latter is
also called the holding period return.

Research
and Development refers to
innovative activities
undertaken by corporations or governments in developing new services or
products, or improving existing services or products. Research and
development constitutes the
first stage of
development of a potential new service or the production process.
Reinvestment is the practice of using
dividends, interest, or any other form of income distribution earned in an
investment to purchase additional shares or units, rather than receiving
the distributions in cash.
Dividend Reinvestment Plan is an equity investment option offered
directly from the underlying company. The investor does not receive
quarterly dividends directly as cash; instead, the investor's dividends
are directly reinvested in the underlying equity. (The investor must still
pay tax annually on his or her dividend income, whether it is received or
reinvested.)
Social
Return on Investment is a principles-based method for measuring
extra-financial value (such as environmental or social value not currently
reflected or involved in conventional financial accounts). It can be used
by any entity to evaluate impact on stakeholders, identify ways to improve
performance, and enhance the performance of investments.
There are seven principles of SROI. 1.
Involve stakeholders (i.e. everyone who has a 'stake' or an interest in
the subject of the SROI). Inform what gets measured and how this is
measured and valued in an account of social value by involving
stakeholders. 2. Understand what changes (for those stakeholders).
Articulate how change is created and evaluate this through evidence
gathered, recognizing positive and negative changes as well as those that
are intended and unintended. 3. Value what matters (also known as the 'monetisation
principle' – see below). Making decisions about allocating resources
between different options needs to recognize the values of stakeholders.
Value refers to the relative importance of different outcomes. It is
informed by stakeholders' preferences. 4. Only include what is material.
Determine what information and evidence must be included in the accounts
to give a true and fair picture, such that stakeholders can draw
reasonable conclusions about impact. 5. Do not over-claim. Only claim the
value that activities are responsible for creating. 6. Be transparent.
Demonstrate the basis on which the analysis may be considered accurate and
honest, and show that it will be reported to and discussed with
stakeholders. 7. Verify the result. Ensure appropriate independent
assurance. Proponents of SROI argue that using monetary proxies (market
prices or other monetary proxies) for social, economic and environmental
value offers
several practical benefits: it
makes it easier to align and integrate performance management systems with
financial management systems; it aids communication with internal
stakeholders, especially those responsible for finances and resource
allocation, and with those who prefer quantitative to qualitative ways of
learning; it induces transparency since it precipitates the clarification
of which values have been included and which have not been included; it
permits sensitivity analysis to show which assumptions are more important
in that the result is more affected by changes in some assumptions than
others; it helps identify the critical sources of value and so streamlines
performance management.
Potential limitations:
Benefits that cannot be monetised: There will be some benefits that are
important to stakeholders but which cannot be monetised. An SROI analysis
should not be restricted to one number, but seen as a framework for
exploring an organisation’s social impact, in which monetisation plays an
important but not an exclusive role.
Focus on
monetisation: One of the dangers of SROI is that people may focus
on monetisation without following the rest of the process, which is
crucial to proving and improving. Moreover, an organisation must be clear
about its mission and values and understand how its activities change the
world – not only what it does but also what difference it makes. This
clarity informs stakeholder engagement. Therefore, if an organisation
seeks to monetise its impact without having considered its mission and
stakeholders, then it risks choosing inappropriate indicators; and as a
result the SROI calculations can be of limited use or even misconstrued.
Needs considerable capacity: SROI is time- and resource-intensive.[ It is
most easily used when an organization is already measuring the direct and
longer-term results of its work with people, groups, or the environment.
Some outcomes not easily associated with monetary value: Some outcomes and
impacts (for example, increased self-esteem, improved family
relationships) cannot be easily associated with a monetary value. In order
to incorporate these benefits into the SROI ratio proxies for these values
would be required. SROI analysis is a developing area and as SROI evolves
it is possible that methods of monetising more outcomes will become
available and that there will be increasing numbers of people using the
same proxies. Exaggerating the result: When participants expect SROI
greater than 100% and when the observation coverage involves a huge
project with numerous stakeholders, who genuinely believe the result was
greater by minimizing the contributions of their partner.
Sustainable Return on Investment is a methodology for identifying and
quantifying environmental, societal, and economic impacts of investment in
projects and initiatives (e.g., factories, new product development, civil
infrastructure, efficiency and recycling programs, etc.). The goal of
S-ROI is to make risk-opportunity assessments more robust by providing new
visibility into intangible internal costs and benefits, and
externalities - social,
economic, and environmental effects that are typically not considered in
traditional cash-oriented project planning. Because it includes
environmental impacts, S-ROI is distinct from the similarly named
methodology of Social Return on Investment (SROI).
Sustainability.
Socially Responsible Investing is any investment strategy which seeks
to consider both financial return and social/environmental good to bring
about social change regarded as positive by proponents. Socially
responsible investments often constitute a small percentage of total funds
invested by corporations and are riddled with obstacles. Socially
responsible investing is also known as social investment, sustainable
socially conscious, green investing or ethical investing.
Quality Investing is an investment strategy based on a set of clearly
defined fundamental criteria that seeks to identify companies with
outstanding quality characteristics. The quality assessment is made based
on soft (e.g. management credibility) and hard criteria (e.g. balance
sheet stability). Quality investing supports best overall rather than
best-in-class approach.
Value Investing is an investment paradigm that involves buying
securities that appear underpriced by some form of fundamental analysis.
Insurance -
Prevention.
Parental Investment is any parental expenditure (e.g. time, energy,
resources) that
benefits
offspring. Parental investment may be performed by both males and
females (biparental care), females alone (exclusive maternal care) or
males alone (exclusive paternal care). Care can be provided at any stage
of the offspring's life, from pre-natal (e.g. egg guarding and incubation
in birds, and placental nourishment in mammals) to post-natal (e.g. food
provisioning and protection of offspring).
Investor Profile defines an individual's preferences in investment
decisions, for example, Short term trading (active management) or long
term holding (buy and hold), Risk-averse or risk tolerant / seeker, All
classes of assets or just one (stocks for example), Value stock, growth
stocks, quality stocks, defensive or cyclical stocks, Big cap or small cap
(Market capitalization) stocks, Use or not of derivatives, Home turf or
international diversification, Hands on, or via investment funds.
Investment
Management refers to the handling of financial assets and other
investments—not only buying and selling them. Management includes devising
a short- or long-term strategy for acquiring and disposing of portfolio
holdings. It can also include banking,
budgeting, and tax services and
duties, as well. Investment management is the professional asset
management of various securities, including shareholdings, bonds, and
other assets, such as real estate, in order to meet specified investment
goals for the benefit of investors. Investors may be institutions, such as
insurance companies, pension funds, corporations, charities, educational
establishments, or private investors, either directly via investment
contracts or, more commonly, via collective investment schemes like mutual
funds, exchange-traded funds, or REITs.
The Future of Education and Training is about
Investment,
because people are the investment. Businesses invest, banks
invest, people invest, so investing is nothing new. But now we
need to invest in people, and invest in the communities where
they live and work. We can't force students to pay for education
when there is no guarantee that their education will be used
effectively, or that their education will be used to benefit
society. A college graduate should not be dependent on other
people for jobs. College graduates should instead be independent
and free to make their own decisions, decisions that are better
then the ones being made now. That is how society improves, that
is how society solves problems. We need to make improvements on
how we train and educate our work force, because the current
system is failing horribly, which is costing peoples lives, and degrading
the health and stability of our planet.
"Our education system has some serious flaws, and
these flaws are
killing us, and also doing a lot of damage."
To say that students need a college degree is a lie and unfair. What students need
is a job that will also give them time to earn a degree.
On
the Job Training is nothing new, just look at the military.
And there's your other problem. If everyone is educated then
who's going to fight the wars? Well if everyone is educated then
there will be no need for wars. Do you see corporations going to
war against other corporations? Do you see corporations killing
each other on the battle field using deadly weapons, no, because
corporations use lawyers, not bullets. And lawyers is another
problem. Who the hell would train all these lawyers if they
weren't going to be used effectively, or be used to benefit
Society? A moron who's more interested in money then peoples future, that's who.

Man-Hour is the amount of
work performed by
the average worker in one hour. It is used for estimation of the
total amount of uninterrupted labour required to perform a task. For
example, researching and writing a college paper might require eighty
man-hours, while preparing a family banquet from scratch might require ten
man-hours. Man-hours exclude the breaks that people generally require from
work, e.g. for rest, eating, and other bodily functions. They count only
pure labour. Managers count the man-hours and add break time to estimate
the
amount of time a task will actually take to
complete. Thus, while one college course's written paper might
require twenty man-hours to carry out, it almost certainly will not get
done in twenty consecutive hours. Its progress will be interrupted by work
for other courses, meals, sleep, and other distractions.
How much money is one man hour of labor worth?
What is the
value of a persons work?
Workforce or
labour force is the
labour pool either in employment or
unemployed. It is generally used to describe those working for a single
company or industry, but can also apply to a geographic region like a
city, state, or country. Within a company, its value can be labelled as
its "Workforce in Place". The workforce of a country includes both the
employed and the unemployed (labour force). The term generally excludes
the employers or management, and can imply those involved in manual labour.
It may also mean all those who are available for work.
Workforce Development an American approach to economic
development, attempts to enhance a region's economic stability and
prosperity by focusing on people rather than businesses. It essentially
develops a human-resources strategy. Work-force development has evolved
from a problem-focused approach, addressing issues such as low-skilled
workers or the need for more employees in a particular industry, to a
holistic approach considering participants' many barriers and the overall
needs of the region. Work-force development has historically occurred in
two forms: place-based strategies that attempt to address the
needs of people
living in a particular neighborhood, and sector-based strategies that
focus on
matching workers' skills
to needs in an industry already present in the region.
Contingent Work
or casual work, or contract work, is an employment relationship with
limited job security, payment on a piece work basis, typically part-time
(typically with variable hours) that is considered non-permanent. Although
there is less job security, freelancers often report incomes higher than
their former traditional jobs. Contingent workers are also often called
consultants, freelancers, independent contractors, independent
professionals, temporary contract workers or temps. According to the US
Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the nontraditional workforce includes
"multiple job holders, contingent and part-time workers, and people in
alternative work arrangements". These workers currently represent a
substantial portion of the US workforce, and "nearly four out of five
employers, in establishments of all sizes and industries, use some form of
nontraditional staffing". "People in alternative work arrangements"
includes independent contractors, employees of contract companies, workers
who are on call, and temporary workers.
Job
Market or
Labor Market is the market
in which
employers
search for
employees
and employees search for jobs. The job market is
not a physical place as much as a concept demonstrating the
competition and interplay between different labor forces.
Labour Market Flexibility is the speed with which labour markets adapt
to fluctuations and changes in society, the economy or production.

Underemployed is
not having enough paid work
or not doing work that makes full use of their skills and abilities.
Underemployment is the underuse of a worker because a job does not use
the worker's skills, is part-time, or leaves the worker idle. Examples
include holding a part-time job despite desiring full-time work, and
over-qualification, in which the employee has education, experience, or
skills beyond the requirements of the job.
Brain
Drain.
Involuntary Unemployment occurs when a person is willing to work at
the
prevailing wage yet is
unemployed. Involuntary unemployment is
distinguished from voluntary unemployment, where workers choose not to
work because their reservation wage is higher than the prevailing wage. In
an economy with involuntary unemployment there is a surplus of labor at
the current real wage. This occurs when there is some force that prevents
the
real wage rate from
decreasing to the real wage rate that would equilibrate supply and demand
(such as a minimum wage above the market-clearing wage). Structural
unemployment is also involuntary.
Over-Qualification is the state of being skilled or
educated beyond what is necessary for a job.
There can often be high costs for companies associated with training
employees. This could be a problem for professionals applying for a job
where they significantly exceed the job requirements because potential
employers may feel they are using the position as a stepping stone.
Niche is a position particularly well
suited to the person who occupies it. It generally means that one finds a
place where one fits in and feels comfortable with the situation. Niche in
ecology is the status of an organism within its environment and community
affecting its survival as a species. Niche can also mean a small concavity
or an enclosure that is set back or indented.

Entry-Level Job is a job that is normally designed or designated for
recent graduates of a given discipline and typically does not require
prior experience in the field or profession. Entry-level jobs targeted at
college graduates often offer a higher salary than those targeted at high
school graduates. These positions are more likely to require specific
skills, knowledge, or experience. Most entry-level jobs offered to college
graduates are full-time permanent positions and some offer more extensive
graduate training programs. While entry-level jobs traditionally required
no experience, the Great Recession produced a surplus of college graduates
on the job market and eliminated many entry level positions.
Work-Life Policy is any program that
increases an organization's ability to integrate the needs of work and
personal life (e.g. self-care, health care, child care, elder care,
domestic partner care, education and study, personal life interests).
Work Life Balance.
Work at Home Parent is an entrepreneur who works from home and
integrates
parenting
into his or her business activities. They are sometimes referred to as a
WAHM (work at home mom) or a WAHD (work at home dad).
Entrepreneurs choose to run
businesses from home for a variety of reasons, including lower business
expenses, personal health limitations, eliminating commuting, or in order
to have a
more flexible schedule.
This flexibility can give an entrepreneur more options when planning
tasks, business and non-business, including parenting duties. While some
home-based entrepreneurs opt for childcare outside the home, others
integrate child rearing into their work day and workspace. The latter are
considered work-at-home parents. Many WAHPs start home-based businesses in
order to care for their children while still creating income. The desire
to care for one's own children, the incompatibility of a 9-to-5 work day
with school hours or sick days, and the expense of childcare prompt many
parents to change or leave their jobs in the workforce to be available to
their children. Many WAHPs build a business schedule that can be
integrated with their parenting duties.
Lay Worker in healthcare is defined as a
health worker who performs functions related to health care delivery and
is trained in some way in the context of an intervention, but who has not
received a formal professional or paraprofessional certificate or tertiary
education degree. Other terms for lay health workers include community
health workers and village health workers. Trained traditional birth
attendants are also regarded as lay health workers. A lay worker can also
be a person who works in a religious organization but is not a member of
the formal clergy.
Informal Economy is the part of any economy that is
neither taxed nor
monitored by any form of government. Although the informal sector makes up
a significant portion of the economies in developing countries, it is
sometimes stigmatized as troublesome and unmanageable. However, the
informal sector provides critical economic opportunities for the poor and
has been expanding rapidly since the 1960s. Integrating the informal
economy into the formal sector is an important policy challenge. Unlike
the formal economy, activities of the informal economy are not included in
a country's gross national product (GNP) or gross domestic product (GDP).
The informal sector can be described as a grey market in labour. Other
concepts that can be characterized as informal sector can include the
black market (shadow economy, underground economy), agorism, and System D.
Associated idioms include "under the table", "
off the books", and "
working
for cash".

Precarious Work
is
non-standard employment that is
poorly paid, insecure,
unprotected, and
cannot support a household. In recent decades there has been a
dramatic increase in precarious work due to such factors as globalization,
the shift from the manufacturing sector to the service sector, and the
spread of information technology. These changes have created a new economy
which demands flexibility in the workplace and, as a result, caused the
decline of the standard employment relationship and a dramatic increase in
Contingent Work and
Zero-Hour
Contracts. An important aspect of precarious work is its gendered
nature, as women are continuously over-represented in this type of work.

Informal Work refers to work in which an

informal work, employees don't receive health benefits and are often hired
temporarily.

Labour
is an activity
which creates and maintains economic
Value, and should
also save on human energy and effort, because the
less time the society requires to produce wheat, cattle etc.,
the more time it wins
for other production, material or mental. Society likewise has
to
distribute its time in a purposeful way, in order to achieve
a
production adequate to its overall needs; just as the individual
has to distribute his time correctly in order to achieve
knowledge in proper proportions or in order to satisfy the
various demands on his activity.
Employment Skills
and Requirements.
Manual Labour is physical work done by humans, in contrast to labour
by
machines and working animals. It is most
literally work done with the hands (the word "
manual" comes from the Latin
word for hand) and, by figurative extension, it is work done with any of
the muscles and bones of the body. For most of human prehistory and
history, manual labour and its close cousin, animal labour, have been the
primary ways that physical work has been accomplished.
Mechanisation and
Automation, which
reduce the need for human and animal labour in
production, have
existed for centuries, but it was only starting in the 18th and 19th
centuries that they began to significantly expand and to change human
culture. To be implemented, they require that sufficient technology exist
and that its capital costs be justified by the amount of future wages that
they will obviate. Semi-automation is an alternative to worker
displacement that combines human labour, automation, and computerization
to leverage the advantages of both man and machine. Although nearly any
work can potentially have skill and intelligence applied to it, many jobs
that mostly comprise manual labour—such as fruit and vegetable picking,
manual materials handling (for example, shelf stocking), manual digging,
or manual assembly of parts—often may be done successfully (if not
masterfully) by unskilled or semiskilled workers. Thus there is a partial
but significant correlation between manual labour and unskilled or
semiskilled workers. Based on economic and social conflict of interest,
people may often distort that partial correlation into an exaggeration
that equates manual labour with lack of skill; with lack of any potential
to apply skill (to a task) or to develop skill (in a worker); and with low
social class. Throughout human existence the latter has involved a
spectrum of variants, from slavery (with stigmatisation of the slaves as
"subhuman"), to caste or caste-like systems, to subtler forms of
inequality. Economic competition often results in businesses trying to buy
labour at the lowest possible cost (for example, through offshoring or by
employing foreign workers) or to obviate it entirely (through
mechanisation and automation).
Roll Up your
Sleeves means to prepare yourself for a fight or for hard work. The
expression came from turning or folding one's long sleeves upward to avoid
getting them wet or dirty when working. Rolling up your long sleeves can
also keep your sleeves out of the way when working. When it's very hot,
rolling up the sleeves will let more air flow directly over more of your
skin, thus cooling you down a little.
Working Time is the period of time that a person spends
at paid labor. Unpaid labor such as personal housework or caring for
children or pets is not considered part of the working week, for some strange reason?

Right to Work - Job Guarantee
Job Guarantee is an economic policy proposal aimed at
providing a sustainable solution to the dual problems of inflation and
unemployment. Its aim is to create full employment and price stability, by
having the state promise to hire unemployed workers as an employer of last
resort (ELR).
Jobs that make a Difference.
Right to Work is the concept that people have a human right to work,
or engage in productive employment, and may not be prevented from doing
so. The right to work is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights and recognized in international human rights law through its
inclusion in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural
Rights, where the right to work emphasizes economic, social and cultural
development.
Labor Rights are both legal rights and human rights relating to labor
relations between workers and employers. These rights are codified in
national and international labor and employment law. In general, these
rights influence working conditions in relations of employment. One of the
most prominent is the right to freedom of association, otherwise known as
the right to organize. Workers organized in trade unions exercise the
right to collective bargaining to improve working conditions.
Dignity of
Labour is the philosophy that all types of jobs are respected equally,
and no occupation is considered superior and none of the jobs should be
discriminated on any basis. Regardless of whether one's occupation
involves physical work or mental labour, it is held that the job deserves
respect. Social reformers such as Basava and his contemporary Sharanas, as
well as Mahatma Gandhi, were prominent advocates of the dignity of labour.
Equal
Pay for Equal Work is the concept of labour rights that individuals in
the same workplace be given equal pay. It is most commonly used in the
context of sexual discrimination, in relation to the gender pay gap. Equal
pay relates to the full range of payments and benefits, including basic
pay, non-salary payments, bonuses and allowances. Some countries have
moved faster than others in addressing equal pay.
Living Wage -
Basic Income.
Exploitation of Labor refers to social relations where an "actor or
character of actors uses others for their own end because of a
fundamentally asymmetric power relationship between them". When speaking
about exploitation there is a direct affiliation with consumption in
social theory. Traditionally, this would label exploitation as unfairly
taking advantage of another person because of his or her inferior
position,
giving the exploiter
the power.

Dead-End Job is a job where there is
little or no chance of career
development and advancement into a
higher paid position. If an individual
requires further education to progress within their firm that is difficult
to obtain for any reason, this can result in the occupation being
classified as a dead-end position. You know when you are in a dead end job
when the work is lacking passion or when you feel no challenge in the
daily activities of your job, which compromises job performance and
efficiency due to a lack of motivation. If the business you work for does
more harm than good or has very little value to society, that can be a
dead end job. If you feel you are being hampered by the presence of a
glass ceiling that prohibits advancement in a firm, that can be a dead end
job. Other signs of a dead end job may be not being able to visualize any
opportunities for growth in a current position. The responsibilities of
the position have not changed within the last three years. One is not
actively chosen for high-profile projects, committees, and is passed over
for a promotion or has experienced a demotion in your title. The strategic
direction of the company has changed and, in turn, one's function within
the firm has been minimized or phased out. The relationships with
management and
fellow
co-workers are continuously deteriorating, regardless of attempts to
rectify the scarred relationships. There is much turnover in one's
position. Complaints of job dissatisfaction within the firm fall on deaf
ears. There is risk of one's occupation being made obsolete by
automation.
I don't want no
dead end job, I don't wanna be no number.
Decent Work is
employment that "
respects the fundamental rights
of the human person as well as the rights of workers in terms of
conditions of work safety and remuneration. respect for the physical and
mental integrity of the worker in the exercise of his/her employment."
Decent work is applied to both the formal and informal sector. It must
address all kind of jobs, people and families. According to the
International Labour Organization (ILO), decent work involves
opportunities for work that are productive and deliver a fair income,
security in the workplace and social protection for families, better
prospects for personal development and social integration, freedom for
people to express their concerns, organize and participate in the
decisions that affect their lives and equality of opportunity and
treatment for all women and men. The ILO is developing an agenda for the
community of work, represented by its tripartite constituents, to mobilize
their considerable resources to create those opportunities and to help
reduce and eradicate poverty The ILO Decent Work Agenda is the balanced
and integrated programmatic approach to pursue the objectives of full and
productive employment and decent work for all at global, regional,
national, sectoral and local levels. It has four pillars: standards and
rights at work, employment creation and enterprise development, social
protection and social dialogue.
Economic Interventionism is an economic policy perspective
favoring government intervention in the market process to correct the
market failures and promote the general welfare of the people.
Interstate Commerce Commission original purpose was to regulate
railroads (and later trucking) to ensure fair rates, to eliminate rate
discrimination, and to regulate other aspects of common carriers,
including interstate bus lines and telephone companies. Congress expanded
ICC authority to regulate other modes of commerce beginning in 1906. The
agency was abolished in 1995, and its remaining functions were transferred
to the
Surface Transportation Board.
Socially Necessary Labour Time in Marx's critique of
political economy is what regulates the exchange value of commodities in
trade and consequently constrains producers in their attempt to economise
on labour. It does not 'guide' them, as it can only be determined after
the event and is thus inaccessible to forward planning.
Political
Economy is a term used for studying production and trade, and their
relations with law, custom, and government, as well as with the
distribution of national income and wealth.

Job Opportunities and Basic Skills Training Program was a
welfare-to-work program created by the Family Support Act of 1988 to
replace the Work Incentive program (WIN) created by the Social Security
Act Amendments of 1967. The Family Support Act put the program under
titles IV-A and IV-F of the Social Security Act, and the regulations were
codified at 45 C.F.R. 250.
Welfare-to-Work
A social program designed to wean those receiving government benefits back
into employment.
Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents refers to low income working
adults in the United States who do not have dependents.
Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act instituted Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), which became effective July 1, 1997.
TANF replaced the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC)
program—which had been in effect since 1935—and supplanted the Job
Opportunities and Basic Skills Training program (JOBS) of 1988.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families is one of the United States of
America's federal assistance programs. It began on July 1, 1997, and
succeeded the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) program,
providing cash assistance to indigent American families through the United
States Department of Health and Human Services. This cash benefit is often
referred to simply as welfare.
Aid to Families with Dependent Children was a federal assistance
program in effect from 1935 to 1996 created by the Social Security Act (SSA)
and administered by the United States Department of Health and Human
Services that provided financial assistance to children whose families
had
low or no income.
Administration of Federal Assistance is defined as any federal
program, project, service, or activity provided by the federal government
that directly assists domestic governments, organizations, or individuals
in the areas of education, health, public safety, public welfare, and
public works, among others. The assistance, which can reach to over $400
billion annually, is provided and administered by federal government
agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through special programs
to recipients.

it's a crime against humanity. No one in their right mind would choose

Desk-based jobs may offer protection against poor cognition in later life.
People who work in jobs that require less physical activity -- typically
office and desk-based jobs -- are at a lower risk of subsequent poor
cognition than those whose work is more physically active. Individuals
with no qualifications were more likely to have physically active jobs,
but less likely to be physically active outside of work. A physically
inactive job (typically a desk-job), is associated with lower risk of poor
cognition, irrespective of the level of education. Those who remained in
this type of work throughout the study period were the most likely to be

increased risk of poor cognition than those with an inactive job.

and easily reparable. China will make their your own products, and
Americans will make their own products, and other Countries will make
their own products. Countries will only trade what they lack, and they
will not trade what corporations and governments exploit. Then one of
the most things that we will be trading with the world is ideas.

everything that people have in this world comes from
low wage labor. Almost
every man made object that people have is the result of low wage labor.
Most of the productive jobs and most of the important work is done by low
wage labor. Like your garbage man, your food harvesters, your food store
workers, your cleaners, and most all your appliances comes from low wage
workers.
Small Businesses creates most of
the jobs that employs a large percentage of the workforce. Large
businesses only employ about 38 percent of the private sector workforce
while small businesses employ 53 percent of the workforce. In fact, over
99 percent of employing organizations are small businesses and more than
95 percent of these businesses have fewer than 10 employees. About 60
million Americans worked for small businesses in 2006. This is about 51
percent of the private, nonfarm U.S. workforce.

To do something
that you're passionate about doing, you first have to
find your passion, which can be an
adventure all on its own. You have to be looking for something special and
always be
exploring ideas, but even then, your passion may not be so
obvious to you when you find it.
Finding your
calling is a journey and a process of discovery. There's no
procedure and there's no time limit. Sometimes the only thing that is
necessary is having an opportunity and the resources needed to
chase your dream. And other times, pure
luck is all you need. Sometimes it's a chance meeting, or a new
friendship, or something that you read. But what ever happens, you have to
remember that just because you're passionate about something,
this doesn't mean that you will be good at what you do. Passion is just
the first step. Being a
professional can take
a while. And just because you're
passionate about what you're
doing, this does not mean that
other
people will be as enthusiastic as you are, or even understand the work
that you're doing. So some people might not know where you're coming from.
So do your
research and be
ready to explain yourself. Passion is not without
risk. No one says that you
have to be perfect, or that you will not make mistakes. So remember,
passion needs a lot of
work, and good work needs a lot
of passion. But what happens when your passion turns into a nightmare? It
means that your search continues.

In order to stop everyone from doing things just for
money, which is the
major reason why we are inflicting so much damage to our
earth and to ourselves, is to
create jobs that matter and to create jobs that
make a difference.
If this were to be done then every caring and able person wanting to work would
always have a job. There would be no unemployment because there is just too much
work that needs to be done. So why are we allowing money to disrupt what is
needed and good, and why is money keeping people from doing what is right?

When Working or Just Looking for a job there are three things
that will happen...
I'm not sure who I am, so I'm not sure what I want to do. This is just

do. What is
Success?

Requirement
is necessary for relief or supply. Require as
useful,
just, or proper. Consider obligatory; request and expect. Something that
is required in advance.
Requirement
is a singular documented physical and
functional need that a particular
design, product or process must be able to perform. It is most commonly
used in a formal sense in systems engineering, software engineering, or
enterprise engineering. It is a statement that identifies a necessary
attribute, capability, characteristic, or quality of a system for it to
have value and utility to a customer, organization, internal user, or
other stakeholder. A requirement specification (often imprecisely referred
to as the spec, because there are different sorts of specifications)
refers to an explicit set of requirements to be satisfied by a material,
design, product, or
service.
Requirements show what elements and functions are necessary for the
particular project.
Need is
something required and useful, just, or proper. Anything that is necessary
but lacking. The psychological feature that arouses an organism to action
toward a desired
goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose
and direction to behavior.
Need

Necessary is absolutely

Essential is absolutely necessary; vitally necessary. Basic and fundamental. Of
the greatest importance. Defining rights and duties as opposed to giving the

the Value of Work and bullsh*t jobs (youtube)
Let the problems in the world dictate what you
should do, rather than forcing a preconceived checklist labeled
“success,” to be your motivation. Do something that genuinely helps others
and makes the world a better place in a major way. That’s the way to have
a happy and fulfilled life.
Everyone should have a map of the area where they live showing the type of
work needed to manage and maintain that area in harmony with nature.
An example would be an area of 10 square miles that would need 2 water
managers, 4 farmers, 2 waste managers, 3 educators, 2 carpenters, 2
engineers, 2 scientists to measure and monitor, and so on and so on. And
the map would also show the sounding areas and list the current job positions
available in
that area. And list the training, school courses or experience needed, and
where to go.
"Good jobs are hard to find and sometimes you have to take
jobs that are not sustainable or jobs that are proven not to be important for
your community or your planet. But it's not so much what you do for a living,
but more importantly, it's what you do with your life."

just doing my job” or
It's not my Job" are not acceptable
answers anymore. You have to be able to explain your actions and give reasons in details.
The Five W's and an H
If want the perfect Job sometimes you have to create it
yourself. Every person has a unique quality and every person has something
special to give. So when you find a service or product that the public needs,
something that people will benefit from,
the value of that service will be very rewarding, because you're now doing
something that makes people happy. And you're not just doing the job for the
money, you're doing it because it truly benefits people, that's the perfect job.
And it doesn't stop there either, because now you can make your service even
better by making improvements and making it even more special, and thus make
people even happier. That's the perfect job, a job you can improve on.

Fast food workers should not be fighting for

waiting for greedy ignorant people to create jobs that only degrade society, you

sometimes you have to solve these problems yourself, or solve them with the

Career Choices Information
The only time you can say that you're working
is when your work matters. If you're doing something that doesn't matter, or has
no benefits to society or to the world, then you can't say that you're working.
You can only say that you're wasting time, people and resources doing something
that doesn't matter.
“Productiveness is your acceptance of
morality, your recognition of the fact that you choose to live--that productive
work is the process by which man's consciousness controls his existence, a
constant process of acquiring knowledge and shaping matter to fit one's purpose,
of translating an idea into physical form, of remaking the earth in the image of
one's values--that all work is creative work if done by a thinking mind, and no
work is creative if done by a blank who repeats in uncritical stupor a routine
he has learned from others--that your work is yours to choose, and the choice is
as wide as your mind, that nothing more is possible to you and nothing less is
human--that to cheat your way into a job bigger than your mind can handle is to
become a fear-corroded ape on borrowed motions and borrowed time, and to settle
down into a job that requires less than your mind's full capacity is to cut your
motor and sentence yourself to another kind of motion: decay--that your work is
the process of achieving your values, and to lose your ambition for values is to
lose your ambition to live--that your body is a machine, but your mind is its
driver, and you must drive as far as your mind will take you, with achievement
as the goal of your road--that the man who has no purpose is a machine that
coasts downhill at the mercy of any boulder to crash in the first chance ditch,
that the man who stifles his mind is a stalled machine slowly going to rust,
that the man who lets a leader prescribe his course is a wreck being towed to
the scrap heap, and the man who makes another man his goal is a hitchhiker no
driver should ever pick up--that your work is the purpose of your life, and you
must speed past any killer who assumes the right to stop you, that any value you
might find outside your work, any other loyalty or love, can be only travelers
you choose to share your journey and must be travelers going on their own power
in the same direction.” (

Working Hard or
Hardly
Working? Working hard does not say that you're doing more work or that
your work actually matters. Working smarter not harder also does not say how
valuable your work is or if it's saving time. Working smarter and being great at
what you do is something that you can calculate and prove to be the most
effective and most efficient actions that you can possibly take at this time,
which is based on your current level of knowledge. So lets see your
numbers...and let's see the comparisons to similar processes.
We can create jobs for
everyone on the planet, but some of the jobs that we currently have now
will be no longer needed. So some people will have to change jobs and do
something else for employment and income. But we have to create the jobs first
and then give people the necessary training and education that these new jobs
will require. Some of the training will be on the job training, so people can
start working as soon as they qualify. We have to remember that people will have
to change jobs, but people will not have to worry about not working because we
have so much work to do, so there will be more jobs then we will have people to
fill them. People just need to understand that a lot of jobs that are being done
now will be discontinued because they are not beneficial to society or
beneficial to the environment. But there will be millions of new jobs that will
be created. So people will need to be assisted in getting these new jobs and if
people need training then people will also need free access to the necessary
training and education that these new jobs will require. Millions of people
during WW2 took on thousands of new jobs that were needed to fight a war, well
this is a different type of war, it's a battle for our survival, it's a battle
for equality and liberty for every man, women and child on the planet. The
incentive is always there.
"When kids finish
school and they can't find a job, that's because education has failed
them. Education should prepare kids for the reality that jobs are created by
them, so don't wait for a job, go and create a job, jobs come from people like
you."
Meaningful Work -
Jobs that Make a Difference.
Too many people
and not enough Jobs is a false statement, even though the statement has
truth in it, it does not accurately explain the situation that we are facing. We
have enough work to do, it's just that we don't have enough knowledgeable people
who know how to create the jobs that are needed that would fulfill our
responsibilities in life. And you can't say that we have too many people when we
don't even know what work needs to be done. In reality, we should always have
enough people, as long as we have enough knowledgeable people who can organize
people accurately and effectively.
So the only thing this world we are short of
is brain power, people who know what to do. You create jobs out of necessity and
what is needed by society. So education needs to improve so that students
understand these needs and understand the actions that we need to take. People
need food, and we already have good systems for delivering food anywhere on the
planet. But thousands starve to death everyday. Why? And we are not producing
enough nutritious and healthy food food, so people die everyday from avoidable
diseases. Why? We have wasted time designing processes that makes poison taste
good. Even though we have good education systems, these institutions fail to
Educate people enough so that they can avoid being exploited and fooled into
making weapons, or inferior products, which are still weapons. So there is an
obvious flaw in our education system that needs to be corrected.
Higher Education.
People need Clean Nutritious Food. People need Clean Water. People need Shelter. People need Medical
Services. People need Energy. People need Resources. People
need Tools and Machines. People need Safe and Sustainable Products.
People need Safe and Sustainable Infrastructure.
People need Safe and Sustainable Public
Services.
People need Safe and Sustainable ways to deal
with Waste and Pollution.
People need a High Quality Education and
access to valuable Knowledge and Information. People need Computers and
Smartphones to access valuable Information, Knowledge and Tools.
Big 5.
So there
is plenty of work to be done. It's just that there is not enough people focusing
on creating the jobs that would fulfill our needs to the highest degree of
quality that can be obtained. And all these needs are short of workers, and the
people needed to organize and supervise these workers. This isn't about money,
this is about people coming together and
working together. We all have to share the responsibility that life gives
us. We are so much better off when we work together. But we have to learn how to
work together fairly and effectively. And lucky for us, humans can learn, after
all, our thinking is what got us this far in the first place. So what we need is
an improved education system that every person on the planet has access to. And
we can get there fairly quickly if we all work together.
Incentivize - Work Motivation
Incentive is
something that
motivates an individual to perform an
action.
Enabling
someone in a positive way.
Incentive
Program is used to
promote or
encourage specific actions or behavior
by a specific group of people during a defined period of time. Incentive
programs are particularly used in business management to motivate
employees and in sales to attract and retain customers. Scientific
literature also refers to this concept as
pay for
performance.

Contingency Management is the application of the three-term
contingency or
operant
conditioning, which uses
stimulus
control and consequences to change behavior. CM originally derived from
the science of applied behavior analysis (ABA), but it is sometimes
implemented from a
cognitive-behavior therapy framework as well (such as in dialectical
behavior therapy, or DBT). Incentive-based contingency management is
well-established when used as a clinical behavior analysis (CBA) treatment
for substance abuse, which entails that patients' earn money (vouchers) or
other incentives (i.e., prizes) as a
reward to reinforce drug
abstinence (and, less often, punishment if they fail to adhere to program
rules and regulations or their treatment plan). By most evaluations, its
procedures produces one of the largest effect sizes out of all mental
health and educational interventions.
Token Economy is a system of contingency management based on the
systematic reinforcement of target behavior. The reinforcers are symbols
or tokens that can be exchanged for other
reinforcers. A token
economy is based on the principles of operant conditioning and behavioral
economics and can be situated within applied behavior analysis. In applied
settings token economies are used with children and adults; however, they
have been successfully modeled with pigeons in lab settings.
Incentives help foster
cooperation
and also helps to stimulate people to
collaborate
for the
common good.
This is why hundreds of millions of people go to
work every day, because
they are
getting paid, that is their incentive. So you don't need anymore
proof than that to prove that incentivizing works. But not always, because
it's what people are being incentivized to do is what matters most. If
you're getting paid to make things worse, then that is not an incentive, that's a
bribe. So we
need more incentives and less bribes.
Incentive
Salience refers to the "
wanting" or "desire" attribute given by the
brain – specifically, by the nucleus accumbens shell – to a rewarding
stimulus. Reward is the attractive and
motivational
property of a stimulus that induces appetitive behavior – also known
as approach
behavior
– and consummatory behavior. This "wanting" is unlike "liking" in that
liking is a pleasure immediately gained from consumption or other contact
with
stimuli, while the "wanting" of incentive salience is a
motivational
magnet quality of a stimulus that makes it a desirable and
attractive
goal, transforming it from a mere
sensory experience into something that
commands attention, induces approach, and causes it to be sought out.
Incentive salience is regulated by dopamine activity in the mesocorticolimbic pathway of the brain.
Performance-Related Pay is a salary or wages paid based on the
performance of the individual or team. The reward is the salary.
Merit Pay is the increase of pay for performance, performance-related
pay. It provides bonuses for workers who perform their jobs effectively,
according to easily measurable criteria.
Bonus is an amount of
money added to wages
on a seasonal basis, especially as a reward for
good performance.
An
extra payment (bonus payment) received for doing one's job well or a
salary or wages based completely on how well one does one's job, called
performance-related pay or pay for performance.
Meritocracy is a political philosophy which holds that certain things,
such as economic goods or power, should be vested in individuals on the
basis of talent, effort and achievement, rather than factors such as
sexuality,
race, gender or
wealth.
Advancement in such a system is based on performance, as measured through
examination or demonstrated achievement.

Employee Motivation methods for motivating employees, is an intrinsic
and internal drive to put forth the necessary effort and action towards
work-related activities. It has been broadly defined as the "psychological
forces that determine the direction of a person's behavior in an
organization, a person's level of effort and a person's level of
persistence". Also, "Motivation can be thought of as the willingness to
expend energy to achieve a goal or a reward. Motivation at work has been
defined as 'the sum of the processes that influence the arousal,
direction, and maintenance of behaviors relevant to work settings'."
Motivated employees are essential to the success of an organization as
motivated employees are generally more productive at the work place.
Job design ideas: Job Simplification: The
goal of this job design approach is to standardize and specialize tasks.
This approach does not always lead to increased motivation because the
jobs can become mundane over time. Job Enlargement: The goal of this job
design approach is to combine tasks to give the employee a greater variety
of work. Job Rotation: The goal of this job design approach is to move
workers to different tasks periodically. Job Enrichment: The key to job
design employee motivation, this approach aims to enhance the actual job
by building up the employee through motivational factors. job can be
described in terms of five key job characteristics: Skill Variety - the
degree to which the job requires the use of different skills and talents.
Task Identity - the degree to which the job has contributed to a clearly
identifiable larger project. Task Significance - the degree to which the
job affects the lives or work of other people. Autonomy - the degree to
which the employee has independence, freedom and discretion in carrying
out the job. Task Feedback - the degree to which the employee is provided
with clear, specific, detailed, actionable information about the
effectiveness of his or her job performance. employee participation
program to be successful: Have a profit-sharing or gain-sharing plan where
both the employer and employee benefit. Implement a long-term employment
relationship to instill job security. Make a concerted effort to build and
maintain group cohesiveness. Provide protection of the individual
employee's rights. Quality-of-work-life programs. Work-life balance is an
employee's perception of how a proper balance between personal time,
family care, and work are maintained with minimal conflict. Employers can
use work-life balance as a motivational technique by implementing
quality-of-work-life programs. Examples of such programs include flextime,
workplace wellness, and family support. Flexible work schedules can allow
an employee to work whenever they can as long as a certain number of hours
are worked each week and some employers allow their employees to work from
home. Sometimes employers utilize flextime schedules that allow employees
to arrive to work when they choose within specified limits. A wellness
program can involve having an exercise facility, offering counseling, or
even having programs set up to help employees lose weight or stop smoking
cigarettes. Family support programs involve help with parenting,
childcare, and some programs allow employees to leave for family purposes.
Work Motivation is a person's internal disposition to be concerned
with and approach positive incentives and avoid negative incentives. To
further this, an incentive is the anticipated reward or aversive event
available in the environment. While motivation can often be used as a tool
to help predict behavior, it varies greatly among individuals and must
often be combined with ability and environmental factors to actually
influence behavior and performance. Reduce input to a level they believe
better matches their level of compensation. Change or adjust the
comparative standard to which they are comparing their situation.
Cognitively adjust their perception of their inputs or the outcomes
received. Withdraw. Ask their employer for increased compensation. Engage
in employee theft. There are four fairness perceptions applied to
organizational settings: Distributive justice, or the perception of
equality of an individual's outcomes. Procedural justice, or the fairness
of the procedures used to determine one's outcomes. Interactional justice,
or the perception that one has been treated fairly with dignity and
respect. Informational Justice, or the perception that one has been given
all the information one needs in order to best perform their jobs.
Procedures and policies should be: Consistently applied to everyone in the
organization. free from bias. Accurate, Correctable. Representative of all
concerns. Based on prevailing ethics.
Public Service Motivation explains why individuals have a desire to
serve the public and link
their personal actions with the overall public interest. Understanding the
theory and practice of PSM is important in determining the motivations of
individuals who choose careers in the government and non-profit sectors
despite the potential for more financially lucrative careers in the
private sector.
Employee Morale. Management and employees can help increase morale in
the workplace by the following means. Recognize employees. Be a respectful
manager. Have one-on-one meetings with employees. Invest in employees. Get
to know employees. Pay and reward systems. Job autonomy and discretion.
Support services. Training.

Employee Engagement is a fundamental concept in the effort to
understand and describe, both qualitatively and quantitatively, the nature
of the relationship between an organization and its employees. An "engaged
employee" is defined as one who is fully absorbed by and enthusiastic
about their work and so takes positive action to further the
organization's reputation and interests. An engaged employee has a
positive attitude towards the organization and its values. In contrast, a
disengaged employee may range from someone doing the bare minimum at work
(aka 'coasting'), up to an employee who is actively damaging the company's
work output and reputation. Drivers of engagement: Employee's personal
resources -"...it is found that the positive perceptions that individuals
hold of their own personal strength and ability allow them to be engaged

employee's attitude toward the job's importance and the company had the
greatest impact on loyalty and customer service than all other employee
factors combined." Employee clarity of job expectations – "If expectations
are not clear and basic materials and equipment are not provided, negative
emotions such as boredom or resentment may result, and the employee may
then become focused on surviving more than thinking about how he can help
the organization succeed." Career advancement / improvement opportunities
– "Plant supervisors and managers indicated that many plant improvements
were being made outside the suggestion system, where employees initiated
changes in order to reap the bonuses generated by the subsequent cost
savings." Regular feedback and dialogue with superiors – "Feedback is the
key to giving employees a sense of where they’re going, but many
organizations are remarkably bad at giving it." Quality of working
relationships with peers, superiors, and subordinates – "...if employees'
relationship with their managers is fractured, then no amount of perks
will persuade the employees to perform at top levels. Employee engagement
is a direct reflection of how employees feel about their relationship with
the boss." Perceptions of the ethos and values of the organization –
"'Inspiration and values' is the most important of the six drivers in our
Engaged Performance model. Inspirational leadership is the ultimate perk.
In its absence, [it] is unlikely to engage employees." Effective internal
employee communications – which convey a clear description of "what's
going on". "'
Job Satisfaction is a measure of workers' contentedness with their
job, whether or not they like the job or individual aspects or facets of
jobs, such as nature of work or supervision. Job satisfaction can be
measured in cognitive (evaluative), affective (or emotional), and
behavioral components. Researchers have also noted that job satisfaction
measures vary in the extent to which they measure feelings about the job
(affective job satisfaction). or cognitions about the job (cognitive job
satisfaction). One of the most widely used definitions in organizational
research is that of Locke (1976), who defines job satisfaction as "a
pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of
one's job or job experiences". Others have defined it as simply how
content an individual is with his or her job; whether he or she likes the
job or not. It is assessed at both the global level (whether or not the
individual is satisfied with the job overall), or at the facet level
(whether or not the individual is satisfied with different aspects of the
job). Spector (1997) lists 14 common facets: appreciation, communication,
coworkers, fringe benefits, Job conditions, nature of the work,
organization, personal growth, policies and procedures, promotion
opportunities, recognition, security, and supervision.
Quality of Working Life describes a person's broader
employment-related experience. Various authors and researchers have
proposed models of quality of working life – also referred to as
quality
of worklife – which include a wide range of factors, sometimes classified
as "motivator factors" which if present can make the job experience a
positive one, and "hygiene factors" which if lacking are more associated
with dissatisfaction. A number of rating scales have been developed aiming
to measure overall quality of working life or certain aspects thereof.
Some publications have drawn attention to the importance of QWL for both
employees and employers, and also for national economic performance.
Balance.
Employee
Benefits include various types of non-wage compensation provided to
employees in addition
to their normal wages or salaries. In instances where an employee
exchanges (cash) wages for some other form of benefit is generally
referred to as a 'salary packaging' or 'salary exchange' arrangement. In
most countries, most kinds of employee benefits are taxable to at least
some degree. Examples of these benefits include: housing
(employer-provided or employer-paid) furnished or not, with or without
free utilities; group insurance (health, dental, life etc.); disability
income protection; retirement benefits; daycare; tuition reimbursement;
sick leave; vacation (paid and non-paid); social security; profit sharing;
employer student loan contributions; conveyance; domestic help (servants);
and other specialized benefits. The purpose of employee benefits is to
increase the economic security of staff members, and in doing so, improve
worker retention across the organization. As such, it is one component of
reward management. The term perks is often used colloquially to refer to
those benefits of a more discretionary nature. Often, perks are given to
employees who are doing notably well and/or have seniority. Common perks
are take-home vehicles, hotel stays, free refreshments, leisure activities
on work time (golf, etc.), stationery, allowances for lunch, and—when
multiple choices exist—first choice of such things as job assignments and
vacation scheduling. They may also be given first chance at job promotions
when vacancies exist.
Earmark is a legislative (especially congressional)
provision that directs approved funds to be spent on specific projects, or
that directs specific exemptions from taxes or mandated fees.
Commission as remuneration is for services rendered or
products sold is a common way to reward sales people. Payments often are
calculated on the basis of a percentage of the goods sold, a way for firms
to solve the principal–agent problem by attempting to realign employees'
interests with those of the firm. Sales personnel are thus paid, in part
of entirely, on the basis of products or services successfully sold rather
than being paid by the hour, by attempted sales, or by any other measure.
A common form of commission sales is real estate; in the United States, a
real estate agent who successfully sells property will collect a
commission of 6% of the sale price but a realtor who makes no sales will
collect no salary or compensation whatsoever.
Worker Qualities and Job Skills
Why we work determines how well we work..
Employee Management -
Knowledge Management
To increase job performance we need to make working fun, create
jobs that have a purpose, create jobs that provide potential.
We need to end emotional pressure, economic pressure, and
inertia, because these reasons to work decrease performance.
Praise
Finland requires Master level teachers, and the state pays for
the education, so the have a pool of highly qualified
professionals. A teacher that stays for 10 years makes the same
amount as a lawyer or doctor here in America. They actually pay
their teachers.
Every school, government building, and even some public areas,
will have a job board, a list of jobs that are available and ready to be
filled, locally, regionally and globally. Each job will list the number of
people that needed to fill these jobs adequately. The school will also
list the current number of people who are in training for each job.
Employer is notified of how many people are in training for the particular
jobs they have. Employer can now hire the student anytime during the
education and training process, as long as they continue and finish the
necessary education and training requirements. Things change so always a
have a backup.
Only the most beneficial Jobs will be incentivized, or what the
Government calls,
Subsidize. Jobs will be rated by known factors that would
bring the most value and the most benefits to society and the
community.
Jobs that make a Difference
If incentives are used correctly,
it will be the best investment we could make. Incentives should
work like this, a person is paid for doing a particular
function, a function that benefits them, as well as, benefits
other people too, who in turn, benefits even more people, a
continuous cycle of improvements. But it needs to be a group
effort. And it has to be done on multiple levels. Not everyone
needs to be involved, just enough people so that improvements
continue to happen for as long as needed.
If we have the ability to make better decisions, then we should.
But people are not aware of better decisions, or are they aware
of their abilities. This is because people did not have a
quality education, or have the time and resources needed to
acquire new
knowledge and learn new skills. But with the internet and
computer technology, we have the ability to correct the
deficiencies with
education and also improve access to knowledge and information,
which would allow people to acquire needed skills, and learn
more about themselves and the world around them. But just
knowing that you can have an ability, does not give you the
ability. You must learn and acquire the ability. So if we give
everyone the ability to learn more, and become more
knowledgeable about their abilities, then most people will seek
out these abilities and skills, because they know that knowledge
will give them more potential, more power, more control, more
freedom, and more possibilities. This would be like a perpetual
Self Rewarding System, a system that has the ability to
solve every problem on the planet.
Universal School
of Thought
What a University should be:
If you learn this knowledge and gain these skills, then a job is
waiting for you, guaranteed. Then list the Jobs that are needed by society, jobs
that are guaranteed to preserve life. And
next to those jobs is the job description along with the
necessary courses that a person needs to take.
And just like the Military, Universities are not asking people for money to join,
we are actually going to pay you and take care of your needs.
Why? Because it's extremely important,
which will be just one of the many things that you will learn
about.
Tech Hire -
Merging Industry and Classroom
When we
incentivize, we can mobilize millions. But only when
Incentives are completely explained and the costs are understood.
Every school in the nation should have a class devoted to
Creating Jobs 101,
And these jobs that are based on the improvements that
world needs to make. This way students will be basically mapping
out their own future. So by the time students graduate High
School they will have a pretty good idea what to expect, and
what's expected of them. Kids shouldn't depend on the same
morons to fix the future when it was the same morons who
destroyed their future. If you want kids to be responsible for
their future, give them the wheel, because the morons driving
now have already crashed and burned.
Jobs that are Needed...just some...High Quality Teachers, that guarantees that every student is a
highly intelligent self directed learner.
Highly Intelligent Government Employees, ones who are incapable
of corruption.High Quality Public Utilities Engineers to guarantee fresh
water, affordable energy and proper waste management.
High Quality Skilled Tradesmen to maintain the infrastructure,
roads, bridges, communications and so on.
Highly Intelligent Social Workers and Caregivers, to care for
people in need, and to care for the elderly.
Local Farmers to guarantee food supplies that are sustainable
and healthy.
High Quality Supervisors and Managers to supervise needed
projects that will provide continuous improvements to society and
communities.
Incorruptible
Politicians.
Jobs that Make a Difference -
Maintenance
Professions -
Skilled Labor
The only reason why there are not enough jobs is because of
corruption and ignorance, there is plenty of work to do, it's
just that corruption and ignorance is stopping these jobs from
being created, and stopping these jobs from being filled with
skilled people.
"Most jobs growth are around helping the sick and unhealthy, but
there are very few jobs that are helping people avoid being sick
and unhealthy, this is ignorant and criminal."
The only thing that this world is short of is intelligence. And
when we correct this deficit, everything will improve.
Job-Specific Training Programs
Schools don't always send people to jobs, so the
Job needs to send people to school.
The Job needs to send people to
school because schools don't always
send people to jobs, mostly because the jobs may not be there
after they
graduate from school. This is one of the reasons for
going to college, which is to learn how to create jobs. You also
want students to learn how to manage and supervise large
projects, because the new work force will need educated managers
and trained supervisors, and not just skilled workers. knowing
that you are guaranteed a job before you start school will
increase graduation rates to over 95%. And one of the reasons
why is because that the new job wants you to succeed, they have
invested in you, and you are willing to invest the time in them
and learn your profession. And knowing what your job will be
means that you are already interested in that type of work, and
not for the money, but because you like the work, your good at
what you do, and you know your job is making a difference in the
world.
So the Future of Education is going to change. Every student
will have a job because the job will be part of the classroom.
Either by having remote access to the business or that
particular service, or by having a company or government
representative in the school. And of course Higher Education will eventually be open to
everyone, and, free to everyone.
"Free at last, free at last."

Life Skills.
The Half Life of a Learned Skill
is around 5 years, this means that
much of what you learned 5 years ago might be either obsolete or
irrelevant. So everyone needs to stay current with what is
known. This is why updating what you know and what you do is
extremely valuable, especially when teaching others.

"Jobs and Schools need to be
combined to give people on the job training. You can do this in
almost every job sector that we have. What knowledge and skills
does someone need in order to do this particular job
effectively? You can train anyone on the job, and give them an
hour or two a day to learn the necessary knowledge and
information that would help them to learn more about the work so
they become more valuable and more productive."

Berea College in Kentucky has paid for every enrollee’s education
using its endowment for 126 years. Tuition Is Free and Every Student Is
Given a Job. Can other schools replicate the model? Founded in 1855 by a
Presbyterian minister who was an abolitionist. It was the first
integrated, co-educational college in the South. And it has not charged
students tuition since 1892. Every student on campus works, and its labor
program is like work-study on steroids. The work includes everyday tasks
such as janitorial services, but older students are often assigned jobs
aligned to their academic program, and work on things such as web
production or managing volunteer programs. And students receive a physical
check for their labor that can go toward housing and living expenses.
Forty-five percent of graduates have no debt, and the ones who do have an
average of less than $7,000 in debt, according to Luke Hodson, the
college’s director of admissions. More than 90 percent of
Berea College
students are eligible to receive the Pell Grant—often used as a proxy for
low-income enrollment. Most of those students, 70 percent to be exact, are
from Appalachia—where nearly one of every five people live below the
poverty line. And that recruiting pipeline in Appalachia produces a rather
diverse class—more than 40 percent of the student body identify as racial
minorities. Berea has a $1.2 billion endowment—which is how it can
afford to cover the tuition of every student.
Do Machines Take Jobs - Does Automation Kill Jobs
A Robot didn't take your Job?
The
robot is doing a job for you, which means that you can
do something
else. But what if something else was not available, which sounds
impossible, since every human has
hundreds of
responsibilities
and life itself requires a lot of
maintenance. So there has to be some other activity
that should be available? This means that someone is not doing their job.
Most people can't do
good things because they
need to make money to pay for things they need to live. This is a horrible
system. Money is a tool, money is not supposed to be used a weapon or a
method of control. All humans have a right to be
funded for the
beneficial work they provide. Someone has to be responsible for making sure that all the
work that life
requires has the necessary funding and also has the necessary personnel to
manage these extremely important jobs that need to be done. We have a lot
of work to do. Like cleaning fresh water sources and making sure that
clean water is available to every citizen. We need to clean up toxic
polluted areas on land and in the ocean. We need to provide healthy food
for every citizen and make sure that small farms don't go out of business.
We need housing and to start repurposing abandoned buildings. We need to
improve healthcare and make sure that high quality healthcare is available
to every citizen. We need cleaner energy sources that are available to
everyone. We need to bring back manufacturing jobs that produce high
quality products and provide good pay that workers can live on. We need to
improve education and improve job training so that every citizen can be
intelligent and highly educated and skilled enough so that they can to do
any job that they are passionate about doing. With all the work that needs
to be done, there is no excuse that anyone would not have a job. You can
blame robots or automation, but that would be ignorant and narrow minded.
We can blame the incompetence and the corruption of our government, but
that will not solve our problems.
We
have to go to work. And the first job that we need to do is to elect
the most competent and the most trustworthy representatives that we can
find. We need to clean house and drain the swamp ourselves, and stop
expecting some lying scumbag to do it for us. So it seems that robots
don't kill jobs, it's our own
ignorance that kills jobs
and
corporate greed that kills
jobs.
Automation and
technology has replaced many
jobs, and will continue to do
so. But this does
not replace all the
work that needs to be done.
Humans have thousands of
responsibilities. But greedy
corporations
have killed millions of American jobs by using
slave labor in other
countries, and corrupt governments and
ignorant people failed to correct this problem. So don't
blame technology just
because ignorant people abuse our
tools.
Ignorance has always been our
achilles heal. Displaced is just another word for
negligence, abuse,
and corruption. Our government
representatives are not doing their jobs
and that CEO's are not doing their jobs. So maybe we should replace those
jobs with robots. Then those robots would make it a true democracy because
citizens could
program the
robots using
Americas
Constitution instead of being
programed by corporate
pollution.
Cars didn't replace your feet, computers didn't
replace your brain, and machines didn't replace your ability to do other
types of work, or did it replace your ability to choose to do something
else. But when choices are taken from you, because of greedy corporations,
then you still have a choice, and that choice is to stop this corruption.
The Declaration of Independence
was to free Americans from Britain's control. So now we need another
Declaration of Independence to free us from the control of corrupt
corporations and the greedy scumbags who are destroying America.
Industrial Revolution.
Machines don't replace
humans,
machines
help humans to be more efficient and more
Productive.
Does Technology Destroy Jobs?
No.
Technology does not kill jobs, technology
makes things easier
to do. Jobs are not being lost to technology, jobs are
being freed by technology, which frees up human
potential to do more
important things, such as, solve the problems that are degrading the
quality of life. Problems like the lack of a quality education not being
accessible or utilized to its fullest potential.
There are several reasons why so many people don't
have meaningful work to do.
First,
greedy corporations exploited slave labor in other countries, and they
also failed to
repurpose our
manufacturing facilities which would have saved millions of jobs.
Second, our ignorant and
corrupt government leaders allowed this to happen (murder for money).
Third, our inadequate education system failed to improve education so that
students would be more educated and more skillful in order to solve
problems, especially problems One and Two above. Jobs do not disappear. The only thing that
disappears is our ability to accurately understand our reality enough in
order to act effectively and efficiently so that we don't get caught with
our pants down, which is what happened.
We have to
learn our way out of this problem, we can not just
wish our
problems away.
There will always be work to do,
it's just that people haven't figured out how to
compensate people, or,
have we
figured out how to
make living affordable.
Things Change as
we all know from history, and from our current state.
Species who do not adapt will
die, which is why
so many
people die everyday. We are currently in a
mass extinction,
and if we do not act soon, humans will be on that list.
Automation Skills and Training.
Rust
Belt is a region of the United States that was once known for steel
production and heavy industry until greedy corporations and a corrupt
government sent jobs over seas to other countries.
Rust
Belt is made up mostly of places in the Midwest and Great Lakes. Rust
refers to the deindustrialization, or economic decline, population loss,
and urban decay.
Ludite is a person
opposed to new technology or ways of
working.
Luddite
were a group of English textile workers and weavers in the 19th century
who destroyed weaving machinery as a form of protest. The group was
protesting the use of machinery in a "fraudulent and deceitful manner" to
get around standard labour practices. Luddites feared that the time spent
learning the skills of their craft would go to waste as machines would
replace their role in the industry. It is a misconception that the
Luddites protested against the machinery itself in an attempt to halt the
progress of technology. Over time, however, the term has come to mean one
opposed to industrialization, automation, computerization, or new
technologies in general. The Luddite movement began in Nottingham and
culminated in a region-wide rebellion that lasted from 1811 to 1816. Mill
owners took to shooting protesters and eventually the movement was
suppressed with military force.
When you lose a job that required
little education to do, then you need to increase your education to
acquire a job that machines can't do, and there are millions of those
types of jobs. You need more than a trade or a career, you need a high
quality education.
If you have a job and
you're doing work that a machine can do, then that means you have a
temporary job. So your main goal is to find work that machines can't do,
or find work related to machines, robots, computers and software, or
become
self
sustainable, or start learning what else you can do to be of
service, and then
pass the baton like
everyone else who lived before you.
Technology advanced to fast for
most people, mostly because education did not advance fast enough along
with technology. So technology has advanced to fast for most people, while
technology did not advance fast enough for some people, people who know
how to use technology effectively and more efficiently. There are people
waiting for technology to catch up, while there are 7 billion humans
trying to educate themselves enough to catch up to the current level of
technology. We are going to have to act fast if we want to equalize and
match the current state of the world. The window of opportunity is open.
Technological Unemployment is the reduction of certain jobs caused by
technological change. Such change typically includes the introduction of
labour-saving "mechanical-muscle" machines or more efficient
"mechanical-mind" processes (automation).
Technological Unemployment -
Smart Innovation.
So what will people do when machines give us more
time and less work?
People will have more time to explore, more time to discover,
and more time to learn. People will have more time to do
maintenance,
more time to do repairs, and more time to do improvements. People will
have more time to help people, more time to care for people, and more time
to love people. People will have more time to live.
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To
change something, build a new model that makes the existing model
obsolete.” (

7,231,000 Lost Jobs: Manufacturing Employment Down 37% From
June 1979 Peak of 19,553,000. In April 2015, there
were only 12,322,000 employed in the manufacturing sector. That
is a decline of 7,231,000—or 37 percent.
25 Million Americans are
collecting unemployment in August 2020. This is insane.
40 Million Americans are on
food stamps. This is insane.
In April 1973, the year median household income peaked for
householders who have completed high school but not earned a
higher degree, there were 146,459,000 in the
civilian non-institutional population and employment in
manufacturing was 18,359,000—or 12.5 percent of the civilian
noninstitutional population. In April 2015, there were
250,266,000 in the civilian noninstitutional population and
employment in manufacturing was 12,272,000—or 4.9 percent of the
civilian population.
But still
almost 50 million people on food stamps in 2016 in the U.S.,
up from 25 million in 2005. And
we still have housing problems, we still have
energy
problems, in regards to prices,
pollution and
climate change. And we still have many types of
health related problems to solve.
Disabled Workers on the Rise - Employment Projections
U
nemployment can be measured in several ways. A person is
unemployed if they are jobless but looking for a job and available for work.
People who are neither employed nor unemployed are not in the labor force. For
example, as of July 2013, the unemployment rate in the United States was 7.4% or
12.0 million people, while the government's broader U-6 unemployment rate, which
includes the part-time underemployed was 14.3% or 22.2 million people. These
figures were calculated with a civilian labor force of approximately 155 million
people, relative to a U.S.
population of approximately 315 million people. The
record proportion of long term unemployed, continued decreasing household
income, and new federal budget cuts remained indicative of a jobless recovery.
40 Million Americans still
on Food Stamps since 2008 - ($200.00 a month on average)
14 million People now get a Disability.
Every month
14
million people now get a
disability
check from the government. Most SSDI recipients receive between $700
and $1,700 per month (the average for 2017 is $1,171). The federal
government spends more money each year on cash payments for
disabled
former workers than it spends on food stamps and welfare combined.
Guaranteed Income.
Unemployment - Injuries - Retirement
A person of need gets
abused and
profiled when asking for help from people who are paid to help them,
but when a person from a corporation or a politician steals millions of
dollars, they just call it a profit or a donation?
More than 3.8 million workers suffered from
work-related injuries and illnesses in 2012, which the union said is likely
underreported and could be as high as 11.4 million employees. "The cost of
these injuries and illnesses is enormous -- estimated at $250 billion to
$330 billion a year," the report said.
Social Security Disability Insurance is a payroll tax-funded, federal
insurance program
of the United States government. It is managed by the Social Security
Administration and is designed to provide
income
supplements to people who are physically restricted in their ability
to be employed because of a notable disability, usually a physical
disability. SSD can be supplied on either a temporary or permanent basis,
usually directly correlated to whether the person's disability is
temporary or permanent. People frequently confuse Social Security
Disability
Insurance (SSDI) and
Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Unlike SSI, SSDI does not depend
on the income of the disabled individual receiving it. A legitimately
disabled person (a finding based on legal and medical justification) of
any income level can theoretically receive SSD. ("Disability" under SSDI
is measured by a different standard than under the
Americans with
Disabilities Act.) Most SSI recipients are below an
administratively-mandated income threshold, and indeed these individuals
must in fact stay below that threshold to continue receiving SSI; but this
is not the case with SSD. Informal names for SSDI include Disability
Insurance Benefits (DIB) and Title II benefits. These names come from the
chapter title of the governing section of the Social Security Act, which
came into law in August 1935. As of July 1956, after spending twenty years
bouncing around Congress, the Social Security Disability Insurance program
was put into effect.

Occupational Disease is any chronic ailment that occurs as a result of work
or occupational activity. It is an aspect of occupational safety and
health. An occupational disease is typically identified when it is shown
that it is more prevalent in a given body of workers than in the general
population, or in other worker populations. The first such disease to be
recognised, squamous-cell carcinoma of the scrotum, was identified in
chimney sweep boys by Sir Percival Pott in 1775. Occupational hazards that
are of a traumatic nature (such as falls by roofers) are not considered to
be occupational diseases.

Occupational
Fatality is a death that occurs while a person is at work or
performing work related tasks. Occupational fatalities are also commonly
called “occupational deaths” or “work-related deaths/fatalities” and can
occur in any industry or occupation.
OSHA inspectors may not
inspire confidence in some critics, given that there are fewer than 2,000
state and federal inspectors to review 8 million workplaces, or what the AFL-CIO
says is one inspector for every 68,000 workers.
Occupational injury is bodily damage resulting from working. The most common
organs involved are the spine, hands, the head, lungs, eyes, skeleton, and
skin. Occupational injuries can result from exposure to occupational
hazards (physical, chemical, biological, or psychosocial), such as
temperature, noise, insect or animal bites, blood-borne pathogens,
aerosols, hazardous chemicals, radiation, and occupational burnout. While
many prevention methods are set in place, injuries may still occur due to
poor ergonomics, manual handling of heavy loads, misuse or failure of
equipment, exposure to general hazards, and inadequate safety training.
Workers Compensation is a form of insurance providing wage replacement
and medical benefits to employees injured in the course of employment in
exchange for mandatory relinquishment of the employee's right to sue his
or her employer for the tort of negligence. The trade-off between assured,
limited coverage and lack of recourse outside the worker compensation
system is known as "the compensation bargain." One of the problems that
the compensation bargain solved is the problem of employers becoming
insolvent as a result of high damage awards. The system of collective
liability was created to prevent that, and thus to ensure security of
compensation to the workers. Individual immunity is the necessary
corollary to collective liability. While plans differ among jurisdictions,
provision can be made for weekly payments in place of wages (functioning
in this case as a form of disability insurance), compensation for economic
loss (past and future), reimbursement or payment of medical and like
expenses (functioning in this case as a form of health insurance), and
benefits payable to the dependents of workers killed during employment.
General damage for pain and suffering, and punitive damages for employer
negligence, are generally not available in workers' compensation plans,
and negligence is generally not an issue in the case.
Violence and assaults impacts women while on the job more than men, with
female workers suffering two-thirds of all such injuries, the report noted. Some
of those female workers are victims of assault by healthcare patients or
social work clients.
"Workplace violence is the second leading cause of
workplace death in the country," Seminario said. "Injuries are coming from
patients and clients. You don't have the staffing or resources" in some
institutions, such as psychiatric hospitals, to protect workers, she
added. "It's a growing issue, particularly for women."

money each year on cash payments for disabled former workers than it spends on
food stamps and welfare combined.

Unemployment Rates - Jobs Report - How Many People are
Working
Unemployment Rate is measured in percentages, and
percentages are expressions of
ratios. And like with any ratio,
there a number of ways that
you can manipulate that value. You can say that the Unemployment Went
Down, because More People Left The Workforce. So
you are not counting everyone who can work. And you're not counting
all the people on
disability. And you're not
counting all the people who need to work 2 jobs just to live.
Numbers don't
always tell the truth because people can easily use numbers to
manipulate the truth and change the facts of a situation.
Full employment is when the number of people seeking jobs is
roughly in balance with the number of job openings. But this
does not say what the impacts of these jobs are, or if people
could actually make enough money to live on.
U.S. Economy
added 292,000 Jobs In December of 2015. What kind
of jobs? Are these jobs
making a difference? Are these jobs
creating
more harm then good?
Just creating more jobs says nothing about the economy, so
someone is lying. A healthy job market is between 4.6 percent and 5 percent, but healthy is a lie.
There is a disconnect from reality. About 7.9 million people remain unemployed. For
black teenagers nationwide, the unemployment rate is 21 percent.
For college graduates, it's 2.3 percent
unemployment; for high
school dropouts, 7 percent. If you're a 30-year-old with a
college degree and
a U-Haul,
you're all set, you can find jobs. In the mean time, peoples
severances are long gone, savings are gone, unemployment
compensation is gone. and people have spent their retirement
accounts just to have something to live on.
Unemployment is a measure of the prevalence of unemployment
and it is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed
individuals by all individuals currently in the labor force. During
periods of recession, an economy usually experiences a relatively high
unemployment rate. According to International Labour Organization report,
more than 200 million people globally or 6% of the world's workforce were
without a job in 2012.

Survey Manipulation.
Misclassification Error.
The unemployment rate comes from a survey where Census workers ask about
60,000 households questions about whether they are working or looking for
a job the week of May 10 to 16. One of the first questions that gets asked
is did the person do any work "for pay or profit?" There are then 45 pages
of follow up questions that come after that. One of those questions asks
if someone was "temporarily absent" from the job and why that absence
occurred. One of the responses is "other." The Bureau of Labor Statistics,
the agency that puts out the monthly jobs reports, instructed surveyors to
try to figure out if someone was absent because of the pandemic and, if
so, to classify them as on "temporary layoff," meaning they would count in
the unemployment data. But some people continued to insist they were just
"absent" from work during the pandemic, and the BLS has a policy of not
changing people's answers once they are recorded. It's how the BLS
protects against bias or data manipulation. Former staffers said it's
unusual that the BLS was not able to correct this problem faster. The only
political appointee at the BLS is the commissioner, who, Groshen said,
does not have access to the data and only sees the finalized report.
Saying that the employment rate is low is can be a lie because
you're not counting everyone and you
are
also not including all the other factors involved.
There are fewer people in the workforce and there are people who are not
in the system who are listed as looking for work, so those people are not
counted.
But they do count people working part time and are underemployed
working jobs with low pay and no benefits. You can't count people who are
working but don't earn enough to pay their bills. And on top of that,
millions of Americans are disabled and over
40 million American are still
on food stamps. People can skew information to
manipulate people
into believing something that is false or a lie. That is
fraud and
false advertising,
which is illegal. This is how drug companies get away with murder,
they do their own research
and then present the information in a way that makes them look good. Scumbags.

The Associated Press reported
Thursday that the number of
foreign-born workers
in the U.S. has gone from nearly 3.1 million in 2007 to 25.9 million today.
Those workers account for 56 percent of the increase in U.S. employment
over that period, according to the Labor Department. So our Corporations
are not just farming out our jobs, they are also having workers come here.
Guest Worker Program allows foreign workers to temporarily reside and
work in a host country until a next round of workers is readily
available to switch. Guest workers typically perform low or semi-skilled
agricultural, industrial, or domestic labor in countries with workforce
shortages, and they return home once their contract has expired. While
migrant workers may move within a country to find labor, guest worker
programs employ workers from areas outside of the host country. Guest
workers are not considered permanent
immigrants due to the temporary
nature of their contracts.

Living Wage is the

meet their
basic needs. And the ones fortunate enough to have a
job are over worked and working too many hours, or worse, doing
things that are
counter productive.
Everyone is employable to a certain degree. It's just that we
are putting the responsibility of job creation in the wrong
hands.
The responsibility of job creation should be a city, state and
federal joint program. An agency that measures the needs of
people in any given area. and fills these needs through job
creation and training. We have a lot of people with
disabilities, and we have a growing elderly population.
Communities need to know and understand what the
responsibilities are. What is the true cost? Are we training and
educating students to fill these needed services? We have
workers who are willing and able to work fulltime and part time.
Communities, cities, states and governments have an enormous
amount of work to do. But know one is working on organizing job
creation, jobs that matches the current workforce, along with
the needs of every community.
Let the force be with you, workforce that is. All employees
should be given a
smartphone
with a data plan. This way you can pay people
electronically, you can keep tract of their performance, keep
tract of the time spent working, and keep tract of travel times.
Smartphones can also keep tract of the food and water that each
person needs, and make sure that they have shelter, and make
sure that they have access to education and job training.
And make sure that they have access to other important services,
like Doctors, Lawyers, Energy, Transportation, and Security. No
human should be priced out of life just because they lack this
one thing we call money. We need to see and understand the whole
picture. Because of the amount of knowledge that has been
generated in just the last 25 years, we can now accurately
measure and calculate everything in our world, which gives us
the ability to make better decisions and better choices, and
predict the future with better precision then any other time in history.
The human race is like the
6 Million
Dollar Man, we have the technology, we have the capability
to make the world better, stronger and more prosperous.
In order to improve the world you first have to improve
education so that we can guarantee that people are educated
enough to know how to improve the world. Life is a cycle, and
humans have fallen off their cycle. We need to get back on our
cycle and understand how to effectively ride our cycle again, so
that we can maximize the benefits and the enjoyment from life,
and guarantee a better world for everyone, now and forever.
"Your life is your work, your job is just one of the many
services that you could provide. All the actions that you take
in life and all the things that you do before and after your
job, are the most important things to yourself and to the world.
Even if your job is one of the most important jobs on the
planet, it will never be as important as you. Without you being
the best that you can be, the responsibilities of your job will never reach its true
potential, or will you reach your true potential. The job and
yourself are a shared responsibility. To be a good friend, to be
a good son or daughter, to be a good mother or father, to be a
good boss, to be a good leader, all these things take time to
learn. So when learning how to do your job well, you have to
keep learning how to be a good person as well.

integrity in youth athletes, even in the absence of a clinically diagnosed

white matter is composed
of millions of nerve fibers called axons that act like communication
cables connecting various regions of the brain. Diffusion tensor imaging
produces a measurement, called
fractional anisotropy (FA), of the movement of water molecules in the
brain and along axons. In healthy white matter, the direction of water
movement is fairly uniform and measures high in FA. When water movement is
more random, FA values decrease, which has been associated with brain
abnormalities in some studies.

This is not about money, it's about the lack of knowledge and
information that people have about
Money, which causes ignorant behaviors
and horrible side effects.
When you can't see beyond what money represents, then you
will have no idea what you are doing, whether it's right or
wrong, good or bad. It's
insane what we are doing to ourselves in the name of money.
We allow money to control our behavior, we are letting money decide
how we live. We allow money to think for us, we even
allow money to make our decisions.
Money blinds us from knowing the consequences of our actions.
Money creates a disconnect. How spoiled and
ignorant we are. We have to stop using money as an excuse. This goes way beyond what a financial education could ever
accomplish, this is about life. And because of our inadequate
educational institutions, we will never have the right knowledge
and information to over come the toxic effects of money, such as
poverty, war, crime, corruption, and so on and so on. How can we
allow ourselves to be dependent on money? How can we have a
system that makes people dependent on money? We
need a system and a way of thinking that works without relying
on money. A system that solves problems without money. Without
someone asking to be paid first. People don't need a rewards or incentives, people need the
facts.
Educational Course: How
to solve problems without using money.
It's important how you earn your money, but it's more important
how you spend your time, and how you spend your money.
Saving money is not as important as solving the problem without
money. Saving for your retirement, is like saying I want a home,
food, water and energy, but I don't want to work for it.
"It's like no one is paying attention. We

Thesis - Dissertation - Essay - Academic Papers
Thesis
is a
document submitted in support of candidature for an academic degree
or
professional qualification presenting the author's research and
findings. In some contexts, the word "thesis" or a cognate is used for
part of a bachelor's or master's course, while "
Dissertation"
is normally applied to a
doctorate, while in other contexts, the reverse
is true. The term graduate thesis is sometimes used to refer to both
master's theses and doctoral dissertations.
Dissertations and theses may
be considered to be
Grey Literature. The required complexity or quality of
research of a thesis or dissertation can vary by country, university, or
program, and the required minimum study period may thus vary significantly
in duration. The word dissertation can at times be used to describe a
treatise without relation to obtaining an academic degree. The term thesis
is also used to refer to the general claim of an essay or similar work.

Essay
is a piece of writing that gives the
author's own argument —
but the definition is vague, overlapping with those of an article, a
pamphlet, and a short story. Essays have traditionally been sub-classified
as formal and informal. Formal essays are characterized by "serious
purpose, dignity, logical organization, length," whereas the informal
essay is characterized by "the personal element (self-revelation,
individual tastes and experiences, confidential manner), humor, graceful
style, rambling structure, unconventionality or novelty of theme," etc.
Essays can consist of a number of elements, including: literary criticism,
political manifestos,
learned arguments,
observations of daily life,
recollections, and reflections of the author. Almost all modern essays are
written in
prose, but works in verse have been dubbed essays.

Even though the world spends
$2.3 Trillion on research to produce around 2 million research articles
every year, still today, about 90% of our science results are
locked away behind expensive paywalls, not widely available to the public,

bottleneck in today’s knowledge economy and society, stifling innovation
and slowing down solutions to some of the biggest challenges humanity
faces today: diseases and climate change. “Imagine how we could accelerate

Academic Journal
is a periodical publication in which scholarship relating to a particular
academic discipline is published. Academic journals serve as forums for
the introduction and presentation for scrutiny of new

critique of existing research. They are usually peer-reviewed or refereed.
Content typically takes the form of articles presenting original research,
review articles, and book reviews. The
purpose of an academic journal is
to give researchers a venue to "impart their knowledge to one another, and
contribute what they can to the Grand design of improving natural

Academic Authorship of journal articles, books, and other
original works is a means by which academics communicate the results of
their scholarly work, establish priority for their discoveries, and build
their reputation among their peers. Authorship is a primary basis that
employers use to evaluate academic personnel for employment, promotion,
and tenure. In academic publishing, authorship of a work is claimed by
those making intellectual contributions to the completion of the research
described in the work. In simple cases, a solitary scholar carries out a
research project and writes the subsequent article or book. In many
disciplines, however, collaboration is the norm and issues of authorship
can be controversial. In these contexts, authorship can encompass
activities other than writing the article; a researcher who comes up with
an experimental design and analyzes the data may be considered an author,
even if she or he had little role in composing the text describing the
results. According to some standards, even writing the entire article
would not constitute authorship unless the writer was also involved in at
least one other phase of the project.
Plagiarism.
Too much science is done behind closed

Research
Funding of Science is a term generally covering any funding
for scientific research, in the areas of both "hard" science and
technology and social science. The term often connotes funding obtained
through a competitive process, in which potential research projects are
evaluated and only the most promising receive funding. Such processes,
which are run by government, corporations or foundations, allocate scarce
funds. Most research funding comes from two major sources, corporations
(through research and development departments) and government (primarily
carried out through universities and specialized government agencies;
often known as research councils). Some small amounts of scientific
research are carried out (or funded) by charitable foundations, especially
in relation to developing cures for diseases such as cancer, malaria and
AIDS. According to OECD, around two-thirds of research and development in
scientific and technical fields is carried out by industries, and 20% and
10% respectively by universities and government.

disturbing thing about education research is that in order for the

Abstract as a summary is a brief summary of a

disciplines are aimed at

particular subject. The terms précis or synopsis are used in some
publications to refer to the same thing that other publications might call
an "abstract". In management reports, an executive summary usually
contains more information (and often more sensitive information) than the
abstract does.
Executive
Summary is a short document or section of a
document, produced for
business purposes, that summarizes a longer report or
proposal or a group
of related reports in such a way that readers can rapidly become
acquainted with a large body of material without having to read it all. It
usually contains a brief statement of the problem or proposal covered in
the major document(s), background information, concise analysis and main
conclusions. It is intended as an aid to decision-making by managers and
has been described as the most important part of a business plan.
Briefing.
Recap is to state again as a summary or a
summary of what has been said earlier. Recap is short for recapitulation.
Recapitulation is a summary at the end
that
repeats the substance of a longer discussion.
Recapitulation in music
is the section of a composition or movement (especially in sonata form) in
which musical themes that were introduced earlier are repeated. The
repetition of themes introduced earlier (especially when one is composing
the final part of a movement). Recapitulation can also mean an emergence
during embryonic development of various characters or structures that
appeared during the evolutionary history of the strain or species.
Condense to make
more concise and become
more compact or concentrated.
Distilling -

Negative Feedback from Students about their Teachers and
Professors.
"Avoid this dude. He is far too
emotional to be a professor at ANY university. He has good
intentions but just is a weird guy that spits a lot."
"By far the most boring person I have ever heard speak in my
whole life. He did not teach me a single thing all semester, his
slides are useless as well as his lectures."
"Very odd professor, but really not as bad a teacher as everybody
else would lead you to believe. The real reason why you
shouldn't take this class is the smell. It's like he bathes with
urinal cakes. If you can't get out of his class, sit in the
back."
"There is no hope, all hope is lost. My friend and I both dropped
this class after two classes because she thinks she knows
everything. She's rude and pushes all her beliefs upon students.
Her vain personality is ugly and despicable; her class left me
with a bad taste in my mouth. Her negativity was intolerable."
"If you can avoid him, do...at all costs. You not only come to
hate him as a teacher, but from the stories he tells you about
his past, you start to loathe him as a person."
"HE IS THE WORST BY FAR!! Completely destroyed my freshman year experience."
"She finds it enjoyable to insult her students."
"This professor is NOT ok. Doesn't explain material at all and
doesn't care about the welfare of his students."
"Worst Econ professor. They put a senile old man in charge of the
technology class. That should tip you off how backwards this
department is."
"Never hated a professor so much in my life. Don't take him or
you will regret it."
"I'm surprised he hasn't been asked to leave. Teach yourself
physics."
"He is possibly one of the WORST teachers in the history of the
universe."
"Very tough grader, little senile, does not hold office hours and
generally seems very confused about everything. For the sake of
sanity do not take him."
"This professor is the most miserable professor I’ve ever come
across in my three years of college. This man thinks America and
college students are spiraling down the drain."
"Probably the worst teacher I've ever had. He's a math professor
and he can't even do simple arithmetic. He's basically deaf so
half the class is yelling the numbers at him until he writes the
correct one on the board."
"Very adorable old dude and he is an extremely easy professor. He
often makes mistakes and doesn't realize them. However, if you
have never taken pre-calc before then don't take him because he
assumes you understand all the subject matter."
"Nice guy but such a bad explainer. I literally have no clue what
he talks about."
"This woman is by far the worst teacher I have ever had in my
life. When others have asked her to slow down, she has blatantly
said no."
"Horrible! Do NOT take him! Let's just say from a class of 30,
there were only about 12 of us who did not drop the course. STAY
AWAY!"
"Despite this professor’s cute appearance and totally awesome
accent, this class totally sucked."
"You'll fail every test and not know why."
"This guy loves the sound of his own voice and confusing the crap
out of you. No matter what you say, you are wrong, even when you
agree with him. For the love of God, don't take this class."
"Avoid this professor like the plague."
"Very nasty professor. She seems to be mad at the world. She
needs to be fired!"
"Extremely impatient, rude. She makes you feel like a moron for
asking a question. I simply do not like her!!"
"Another Professor hiding from the real world and does not care
about interesting students in her class or willingness to teach."
"If you want to torture yourself take this class."
"He is practically blind so I don't understand how he can grade
our papers. Isn't there a mandatory retirement age at CCSU?"
"If you're reading this comment after you registered for her
class you have just made the worst decision of your CCSU
attendance. I have had plenty of professors at this school and
none are even close to how horrible she is. She is mentally
unstable."
"DO NOT TAKE HIM. When asking questions about the subject, he
will response with a "What are you, stupid?" kind of answer."
"You can tell he hates his job and takes it out on his students."
"Awful professor. Worst professor I have ever met. I have never
seen a professor act so rudely and hostile. Very annoying.
Unprofessional in the classroom, rude comments directed towards
students, confusing, changes syllabus and due dates
multiple times (adding/changing assignments), disorganized, rude
in email communication. Avoid."
These comments reveal
ignorance on both sides. But I'm sure if students explained more about
the particular difficulties and experiences that they had, and if teachers
and professors explained more about their particular teaching methods and
behaviors, we could easily make improvements in every classroom learning
environment, which would benefit everyone.
