Confidence Factors Optimism is looking on the bright side of things and staying positive that things will turn out good and eventually get better as long as you keep trying and don't give up. Optimism is the opposite of pessimism which is when people constantly complain about problems and see everything as being negative, bad and wrong, so much that they stop enjoying life, stop trying and become angry or depressed. An optimist will look for ways to solve problems, while a pessimist will mostly just complain about problems and focus mostly on all the bad things while ignoring all the good things they can be doing. Plan for the worst but don't Assume the worst. Plan for the best but don't assume the best. Plan like you will live forever, and write as if it were your last day.

Learned Optimism is the idea in positive psychology that a talent for joy, like any other, can be cultivated. It is contrasted with learned helplessness. Learning optimism is done by consciously challenging any negative self talk.

Is a glass with water half full or half empty, or is it just a glass with a certain amount of water in it? It's Relative.

Auspicious is strongly indicating a successful result or favorable circumstances and good luck.

Confidence will not make you great or make you better or make you more skilled, only training and learning will make you better and more skilled, and you also have to understand the limits of physics, the human body and the mind. Having confidence is good, and having confidence will always be better than having no confidence, but confidence will never be more important than knowledge and experience. Be confident in knowing what you have learned, and not just what you think you can do. Know what you can do, and have confidence in that knowledge with no regrets, and Never Stop Learning.

Self-Confidence is commonly used as self-assurance in one's personal judgment, ability, power, etc. One increases self-confidence from experiences of having mastered particular activities. It is a positive belief that in the future one can generally accomplish what one wishes to do. Self-confidence is not the same as self-esteem, which is an evaluation of one’s own worth, whereas self-confidence is more specifically trust in one’s ability to achieve some goal, which one meta-analysis suggested is similar to generalization of self-efficacy. Brave - Strong.

Self- Efficacy is the extent or strength of one's belief in one's own ability to complete tasks and reach goals. Seen as the ability to persist and a person's ability to succeed with a task. As an example, self-efficacy directly relates to how long someone will stick to a workout regimen or a diet. High and low self-efficacy determine whether or not someone will choose to take on a challenging task or "write it off" as impossible. Self-efficacy affects every area of human endeavor. By determining the beliefs a person holds regarding his or her power to affect situations, it strongly influences both the power a person actually has to face challenges competently and the choices a person is most likely to make. These effects are particularly apparent, and compelling, with regard to behaviors affecting health. Know your Baseline - Self-Verification.

Self-Esteem is an individual's overall subjective emotional evaluation of his or her own worth. It is the decision made by an individual as an attitude towards the self. Self-esteem encompasses beliefs about oneself, as well as emotional states, such as triumph, despair, pride, and shame. The positive or negative evaluations of the self, as in how we feel about it. A judgment. Low Self-Esteem.

Assertiveness is the quality of being self-assured and confident without being aggressive. In the field of psychology and psychotherapy, it is a learnable skill and mode of communication. Being assertive means being able to stand up for your own or other people's rights in a calm and positive way, without being either aggressive, or passively accepting 'wrong'.

Pride is having self-respect and recognizing your own personal worth. Pride is feeling good about yourself because you know that you did your best and that you are happy with the choices and actions that you have taken, even when knowing you made a few mistakes. You can be proud to have known someone, or you can be proud of certain people because you know how important they are, especially when you understand how much they had to endure.

False Pride is when you have a foolish and irrational corrupt sense of one's personal value. You have an exaggerated sense of self-importance or you over exaggerate how important you are because of your status or because of your accomplishments. You have arrogance with a condescending attitude. Pride (wiki).

Vulnerabilities - Being too Confident

Vulnerability is being susceptible to injury, criticism, persuasion or temptation. It's being sensitive and easily impressed or hurt emotionally. Likely to fail under stress or pressure and lacking abilities that would help you to defend yourself physically or mentally from an attack, so as to avoid being wounded or hurt. Vulnerability is also the inability of a system or a unit to withstand the effects of a hostile environment and not able to adapt. A window of vulnerability (WoV) is a time frame within which defensive measures are diminished, compromised or lacking. Vulnerable because of incompetence or inactions that create more risk.

Susceptible is when you are easily influenced, harmed or affected by things that should not affect you.

Biases - Sensitivity - Two Sides to a Coin - Feeling Invincible

Achilles' Heel is a weakness in spite of overall strength, which can lead to downfall. While the mythological origin refers to a physical vulnerability, idiomatic references to other attributes or qualities that can lead to downfall are common.

Paper Tiger refers to something that appears to be powerful or someone who claims to be powerful or threatening, but is actually lacking strength and unable to withstand the challenge.

Paper Hands means that you will exit your position and fold early because the heat of the situation is too much for you to handle.

The only accurate way to know if things are good, bad, wrong or right is by measuring the pros and cons. Your feelings or your beliefs are not an accurate measurement of reality. Self-Confidence could be misunderstood as being Egotistic, Self-Centered or just being Full of Yourself or having a dysfunctional Pride. And understanding ones Abilities is not a guarantee that your abilities will bring you Success. And just thinking things will have a favorable outcome is not always beneficial. Pretending to know things can be dangerous. This also applies to Courage, Bravery and being Fearless. And just trying psych yourself up is not necessarily going to make you more Aware or more capable. But you also don't want Fear to paralyze you into not taking actions. Knowing your Capabilities is better then having faith in your abilities. Knowing you are capable of many things is better then just Believing that you are capable of many things. All you can say is that, "I am capable of many things and I understand my abilities, and based on my past experiences, and looking at all the data and information, I can calculate that the odds are in my favor for this particular task that I am about to perform. I know that there is no guarantee of success and that accidents do happen, but I understand the Risk and I understand that Mistakes are a part of Learning. I also know that emotions of any kind are a distraction and will only interfere with my Focus and Awareness". So in order to have any type of Confidence, you first must have an accurate way of measuring your abilities. And not just by comparing your abilities to others, but by validating the accuracy of your testing methods, and by knowing that your measurements are up to date. Optimism, Confidence, Self-esteem, Beliefs, Positivism or having Self-Confidence are all irrelevant. Having confidence could give you a false sense of security. Same thing for Depression or Happiness, or self doubt, which are also irrelevant and not an accurate Measurement of Reality or Awareness.

Being Vulnerable is when something happens at the right time and in the right place, and you're not in a good mood or in the wrong state of mind, or you're not fully aware of all the facts of the situation, that's when you may over react or make a big mistake, a mistake that hurts innocent people and yourself. This is the vulnerability that comes from not having enough knowledge and information. You should always be learning. Learning needs to be one of the things you do everyday like eating and sleeping. And you should always have milestones so that you can see how much you have progressed and how far you still need to go. Why did past civilizations fail?

Soft Target is a person, thing or location that is relatively unprotected or vulnerable, especially to military or terrorist attack. Alternatively, a highly defended target is referred to as hard target.

Caught Off Guard is to surprise someone or to find someone unprepared.

Confidence or the lack of confidence can both have their share of vulnerabilities. You can be over confident and jump to a conclusion or over react and make a bad decision. Or you can be hesitant and not react quick enough. Either way, it's best to look at the facts and try not to totally rely on just your past experiences, because something's can happen that you never expected to happen, all because you never so it happen before. It's better to be safe than sorry or it's wiser to be cautious and careful than to be hasty or rash and then end up doing something that you may later regret. It's hard to plan for every possible scenario, but you should at least know about the most likely scenarios that could happen. Risk Assessment (precautionary measures). How the Body can Affect your Thinking.

Some things are part of the cure and part of the disease at the same time.

Don't be fooled by people who say that some things have gotten better and that some things have improved. Though something's have improved on some level, it's never the whole story. This is not to say that we should ignore these improvements, because it's good to know what works and what doesn't work, because we can learn things that may help us solve other problems. There are many things that don't work in our world, and millions of people are dying as a result. So Knowing what works is good, as long as it doesn't distract us from improving the things that don't work, because they needs more attention.

Emotional Security is the measure of the stability of an individual's emotional state. Emotional Insecurity is a feeling of general unease or nervousness that may be triggered by perceiving of oneself to be vulnerable or inferior in some way, or a sense of vulnerability or instability which threatens one's self-image or ego. Can you have a false sense of insecurity?

Everyone has embarrassing moments in their life and everyone makes mistakes and does stupid things every now and then. The most important thing is to learn from your mistakes and to stay focused on the future. Never look back to punish yourself for a stupid mistake. Only look back to remember what you have learned from your mistake and occasionally look back on your life for amusement and also to laugh at yourself. Live, Learn, Love and Progress.

Inferiority Complex is the lack of self-worth, a doubt and uncertainty about oneself, and feelings of not measuring up to standards. It is often subconscious, and is thought to drive afflicted individuals to overcompensate, resulting either in spectacular achievement or extremely asocial behavior. In modern literature, the preferred terminology is "lack of covert self-esteem". For many, it is developed through a combination of genetic personality characteristics and personal experience.

Inadequate is lacking the requisite qualities or resources to meet a task. Not sufficient to meet a need. Lack of an adequate quantity or number. A lack of competence.

Introvert - Shame - Abuse - Condescension

Reluctant is the unwillingness to do something contrary to your custom. Disinclined or not eager to become involved.

Self-Conscious is a feeling undue awareness of oneself, one's appearance, or one's actions. Having knowledge of one's own existence, especially the knowledge of oneself as a conscious being. No One is Perfect.

Self-Consciousness is a heightened sense of self-awareness. It is a preoccupation with oneself, as opposed to the philosophical state of self-awareness, which is the awareness that one exists as an individual being, though the two terms are commonly used interchangeably or synonymously. An unpleasant feeling of self-consciousness may occur when one realizes that one is being watched or observed, the feeling that "everyone is looking" at oneself. Some people are habitually more self-conscious than others. Unpleasant feelings of self-consciousness are sometimes associated with shyness or paranoia.

Self-Conscious emotions such as guilt, shame, embarrassment, and pride, are emotions that relate to our sense of self and our consciousness of others' reactions to us.

Don't feel that you're not enough for anyone or for anything in this world. You are more than enough. But you have to understand why you are more than enough. If you feel that you are not doing enough or feel that you are not good enough, then you should define those things that you are doing, and list the things that you want to do. You can't do everything, but you can do is make the things that you do more valuable and more beneficial. When you do that, this is when you realize that you are good enough, because you now know what good enough is, which is you. Do what you can, but don't forget to learn what you can. In order to do good and be good, you have to know what good is.

Ambivalent is being uncertain or unable to decide about what course of action to follow.

Uncertain is the lack of confidence or assurance and still undecided about something that is unknown. Something that is not established beyond a doubt and not consistent or dependable, so it may be subject to change.

Unsure is not knowing what to do because of the lack of knowledge and information.

Reticent is to be reluctant to draw attention to yourself. Cool and formal in manner. Temperamentally disinclined or unwilling to talk because of mild dislike or disapproval.

Learned Helplessness is behavior exhibited by a subject after enduring repeated aversive stimuli beyond their control. Learned helplessness was initially thought to be caused from the subject's acceptance of their powerlessness: discontinuing attempts to escape or avoid the aversive stimulus, even when such alternatives are unambiguously presented. Upon exhibiting such behavior, the subject was said to have acquired learned helplessness. Over the past few decades, neuroscience has provided insight into learned helplessness and shown that the original theory actually had it backwards: the brain's default state is to assume that control is not present, and the presence of "helpfulness" is what is actually learned. In humans, learned helplessness is related to the concept of self-efficacy, the individual's belief in their innate ability to achieve goals. Learned helplessness theory is the view that clinical depression and related mental illnesses may result from such real or perceived absence of control over the outcome of a situation.

So you changed your mind at the last second because you were not sure, or maybe you had an intuition.

Coward is a person who shows fear or timidity.

Cowardice is a trait wherein excessive fear and excessive self-concern override doing or saying what is right, good, and of help to others or oneself in a time of need. It is the opposite of courage. As a label, "cowardice" indicates a failure of character in the face of a challenge. One who succumbs to cowardice is known as a coward.

Impostor Syndrome is a psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a "fraud". Despite external evidence of their competence, those experiencing this phenomenon remain convinced that they are frauds, and do not deserve all they have achieved. Individuals with impostorism incorrectly attribute their success to luck, or as a result of deceiving others into thinking they are more intelligent than they perceive themselves to be. While early research focused on the prevalence among high-achieving women, impostor syndrome has been recognized to affect both men and women equally.

I can't be aware of everything and I can't be expected to know everything. All I can do is to keep learning and eventually be aware of more things and eventually know more things. Be Cautious.

Pessimism is worrying or ruminating too much about undesirable things that might happen. Pessimists also tend to focus on the negatives of life and complain more about things than they do planning and problem solving. Pessimists tend to see more of the evil and hardships in life then they do the good or the luxuries of life. Pessimism is not that bad if it makes you aware of problems and makes you want to solve problems. But just being negative and worried will not prepare you for the future.

Fatalistic is the belief that all events are predetermined and therefore inevitable, or our destiny.

Fatalism is the belief that we are powerless to do anything to influence the future and no matter what we do the outcome the outcome will be the same. (which is false, because if that were true no one would be alive today, and that is a fact. We are alive because we did determine our future to some extent and we made good choices, not all good choices, but just enough good choices to stay alive and to progress). Being Passive is a self inflicted death sentence, and not just for yourself, but for everything.

Cowards Die Many Times Before Their Death, but define coward? And kind of situation is it? What may seem like a cowardly act, may actually be genius. Can someone just say no? Or maybe it's just saying no at the wrong time? Damned if you do, Damned if you don't. What can you do except measure what you can and try to see the whole picture. Don't use labels, clearly explain exactly what you mean, these words may be the most important words you ever speak.

Acceptance - Contentment - Complacent

There is danger in having satisfaction, acceptance or complacency. To be satisfied is like having a false sense of security. How can you be satisfied knowing there is something better? How can you be satisfied knowing that it's not an accurate measurement of reality? I'm not saying you can't enjoy life or be happy, I'm just say be cautious when feeling satisfied.

Nothing wrong with examining the possibilities of worst case scenarios, or anticipating undesirable outcomes, just as long as you don't worry or ruminate so much that you fail to ignore other possibilities, or stop trying or stop living. Think and Act instead of crying and doing nothing. "Just because you think it, doesn't make it true".

I Can't Get No Satisfaction.

Nervous is having anxiety and worrying about something that you will be doing in the near future. Usually it's having a little fear or hesitation or being anxious in anticipation about an experience that you will be having. And because you lack some experience and some knowledge, you tend to think about all the things that could go wrong, instead of focusing on your abilities. It's good to examine the details of your actions, and also be prepared for different scenarios or problems that could come up, but you should not let your thinking and your planning be clouded by your emotions. Feeling nervous does not mean that you have to stop thinking or stop planning. Butterfly's are normal, so it's not that unusual, just keep reminding yourself that the butterfly's are just feelings, and they're not your intuition, so they are not allowed to distract you from the knowledge that you have or distract you from the experiences that you will have. Your are in control, and if something does happen, just learn from it and then move on. Things will seldom be perfect, but you can react perfectly if you don't get distracted. Smile, you're in control.

The phrase "Nerves of Steel" means that you're extremely confident and you are not easily distracted, and that you never worry about failing, so you hardly ever feel nervous or afraid. But when someone says "You've got a Nerve", it usually means that you are being insensitive or ignorant in regards to other peoples feelings. Scumbag.

Nervous Breakdown is an acute, time-limited, mental breakdown that manifests primarily as severe, stress-induced depression, anxiety, paranoia, or dissociation in a previously functional individual, to the extent that they are no longer able to function on a day-to-day basis until the disorder is resolved. A nervous breakdown is defined by its temporary nature and often closely tied to psychological burnout, severe overwork, sleep deprivation, and similar stressors, which may combine to temporarily overwhelm an individual with otherwise sound mental functions. A mental breakdown can last for hours at a time, to months at a time. While these time periods can vary between different people, their reactions to the mental breakdown may also vary.

Positive Thinking - Self-Smart - Accurately Calculate Worth or Value.

Inhibition - Assuming - Placebo - Boredom

Envy is when a person lacks another's superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it.

Does Praising someone build Confidence?

Confidence is knowing your abilities and knowing how to use your abilities effectively and correctly. It is not a state of mind.

You can't replace knowledge, information and experiences using just a few words like "You need more Confidence". People don't lack confidence, people lack knowledge, information and experiences. A person doesn't need to believe in themselves, a person needs to know themselves, and understand their abilities. To have freedom from doubt, or to trust, is dangerous.

Being Self-Conscious without Fears is just Awareness. And Confidence without a Conscience is the lacking of awareness.

Thinking Positive is good, but positive thinking alone will not increase your chances, a perfectly executed move needs skills, learning and a lot of training. Sports Wisdom.

"Ignorance is bliss until it hits you in the face"

"Don't get caught with your pants down, or don't get caught unprepared, or get caught doing things that you shouldn't be doing"

"Having no fear is not without risk, you still need to be cautious, responsible and aware. Not being afraid does not excuse you from the risk or danger of reality, you still need to know your limits." Failure.

Yes things will be good and yes things will be bad. But the only way things will improve in the future will be by making lasting improvements today. Just saying things will be OK is not the same thing as doing things that will make improvements so that the odds of things being better will most likely increase. Good Intentions will always be better then no real intentions at all.

Pragmatism rejects the idea that the function of thought is to describe, represent, or mirror reality. Instead, pragmatists consider thought an instrument or tool for prediction, problem solving and action.

"It's illogical to be discouraged by the fear of Failure. Scenarios are to be Measured, they are not to be feared. Believing in failure or believing in success has no calculating factors or value, so they are useless in Decision Making, and they can also be very dangerous because they may cause you to make a wrong decision, a decision not based on reality or facts."

"Ordinary people can be capable of some extraordinary things. So you should never underestimate a persons abilities or a persons value because you never know how important that someone is until you give them a chance to explore their abilities. Incredible things happen when you least expect it, in ways that you have never imagined. There seems to be an extraordinary person in all of us, so you could say that ordinary people are just extraordinary people waiting for their chance to shine."

You have a great need for other people to like and admire you. You have a tendency to be critical of yourself. Your sexual adjustment has presented problems for you. Disciplined and self-controlled outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure inside. At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. You pride yourself as an independent thinker and do not accept others' statements without satisfactory proof. You have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. At times you are extroverted, affable, sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary, reserved. Some of your aspirations tend to be pretty unrealistic. Security is one of your major goals in life. You have a great deal of unused capacity which you have not turned to your advantage. While you have some personality weaknesses, you are generally able to compensate for them.

Don't let your insecurity get the best of you. Don't be Insecure or lack self-confidence or assurance. Don't be totally Dependent on another person for support. Don't be Gullible or easily tricked because of being too trusting. Don't ever assume or jump to conclusions. Asking questions and learning is a lot easier than making costly mistakes. You should be Self-confident and free from doubt, and always believe in yourself and your abilities. You should be Independent and free from external control and constraint. You should be Intelligent and show good judgment and have the capacity to reason.

Love is Like a Rock - Donnie Iris (youtube)
You can't depend on your teacher.
You can't depend on your preacher.
You can't depend on politicians.
You can't depend on superstitions.
Love can rock you.
Never stop you.
Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah,
Love is like a rock.
You can't rely on Mother Nature.
You can't rely on your paychecks.
You can't depend on your doctor.
You can't depend on your lawyer.
Love can rock you.
Never stop you.
Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah,
Love is like a rock.
Love can rock you.
Never stop you.
Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah,
Love is like a rock.
