Know Thyself
To know yourself is to understand your abilities, to understand your vulnerabilities and limitations,
to know yourself physically, to know yourself mentally, to know yourself
spiritually, to know yourself. How much knowledge and information would
you need to truly and accurately understand yourself? What would you
Measure?
Nosce te ipsum." The Suda, a 10th-century encyclopedia of Greek
knowledge, says: "the proverb is applied to those whose boasts exceed what
they are", and that "
know
thyself" is a warning to pay no attention to the
opinion of the
multitude.
"Know thyself and thou shall know all the mysteries
of the gods and of the universe", which is a lot easier said than done.
The better people understand themselves, the more easily they can put
themselves in
other
people’s shoes.
