First you Learn to Read and
then you Read to Learn.
"The more that you read, the more
things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
Theodor Seuss Geisel.
"Reading is important, because if you can read, you can learn anything
about everything and everything about anything".
Learning to read should be an incredible journey. When you first learn to how to read, you should
also be learning about yourself and the world around you
at the same time. Reading should be
constantly moving you forward in life.
Read to Learn.
When teaching someone to read,
make sure the person reads words that helps them understand themselves and
the world around them. So as a person learns to read,
they learn more then just words.
Text-to-Self Connection
is a connection between the text and something in your own
life experience. Text-to-World Connection is a
connection between the text and something that is
occurring or has occurred in the world.
Three of the most important things in
your life: 1: Learn How to Read.
2: Learn how to Comprehend what you are Reading.
3: Read the most Valuable Knowledge and Information that you can
find, things that will increase your understanding of yourself
and things that will increase your understanding of the world
around you.
Reading Example of Reading to Learn and not just Learning to Read
My name is _______ and I am _____ years old. I am just learning
how to Read. Knowing how to read is extremely important.
This is because most of the worlds most valuable knowledge and information
is in the text format or in the written word. This means that
most of my learning will come from reading. And
Learning is extremely
important. If I do not
learn how to understand and
comprehend what I am reading, then
it
will be just like not having access to the worlds most valuable knowledge
and information. And words
are not just for communicating with other people, but more importantly,
words are used to communicate with myself. If I know most of the
valuable words in my language, I can then learn
to understand myself more
accurately and understand the world
around me more accurately. Reading and Learning will give me incredible
potential with unlimited possibilities. So I will
promise to read
something valuable everyday and also learn something
valuable everyday. I
understand that reading and learning is my
responsibility. To be great,
you have to be a great reader and read great things.
I Promise to Learn
I have the power to learn anything that I want to. But I first
have to acquire the necessary
skills, knowledge and
information
that would give me this
power to learn anything
that I want to. Sometimes
learning certain things takes a long time. But the rewards of
learning will always give me endless potential with endless
possibilities.
Once I learn the necessary skills,
knowledge and information, I
will have the ability understand everything about myself and
understand everything about the world around me.
Once I learn the necessary skills, knowledge and
information, I
will be able to
solve any problem in the world and be able to
fix and improve anything that I put my mind to.
Once I learn the necessary
skills, knowledge and information, I
will be able to
learn from any mistake that I make, or learn
from any mistake that others will make. I will also be able to
handle any catastrophe, any struggle, any disaster or any
tragedy that I will experience in my life, all because I have
learned the necessary skills, knowledge and information.
Once I learn the necessary skills, knowledge and information, I
will be able to choose any career that I want, work any job that
I choose, and I will be able to follow any dream that I have.
The Power of Knowledge is a lot of work and a big
responsibility. But
I promise that I will
never stop learning, or will I ever stop trying.
My goal is to become an
intelligent Human. I will always love
myself and I will always love others with compassion. I will
never forget that my life is incredibly special and very
important. My best is yet to come......
Students Pledge
This mantra or saying will be read once a week. This exercise will act as
a reminder and is similar to the
Teachers Promise.
When you are Learning to Read, you should read things that are
relevant and important about yourself and
the world around you.
Imagine learning how to read words that are perfectly aligned
with helping you to understand yourself and the world around
you. Imagine learning how to read words that are
perfectly
aligned with helping you to solve a particular problem that you
are currently having? What if that problem was an emotional
problem? Or personal problem? What if that problem was a
relationship problem? And reading or hearing the right words was
all that you needed for you to understand that problem, so that
it would help you to solve that problem. Never underestimate the
power of words, the power of learning, the power of knowledge,
or the power of having the right information at the right time.
What if the words that you were learning how to read, actually
matched perfectly with what you wanted to learn? And matched
perfectly with the way you are thinking? What if the words
transmitted information that was exactly what you were looking
for?
Reading is an extremely valuable skill.
Knowing how to read can connect you with millions of people who have lots
of valuable knowledge and skills that has been passed down for hundreds of
years. So there's a tremendous amount of knowledge and skills that has
been shared in the written language by millions of people. And all this
knowledge that the human race has acquired has grown, expanded and
improved to such an incredible level, that the true power of knowledge is
just now being realized. This wealth of knowledge is way beyond anyone's
imagination. It is definitely a game changer. When knowledge is finally
available to every person on earth, this world will go through so many
improvements and advancements that this generation in 2021, will look
barbaric to future generations. Future generations will be horrified to
read about all the poverty, the corruption, the wars, the deaths and the
diseases, and they will wonder, how did the human race overcome so many
failures and so many countless mistakes. And we will answer, "We finally
realized the true power of knowledge and we also made knowledge a
birth right to every
human born."
Over the last 2 thousand
years, millions of people have
contributed to our incredible
wealth of knowledge, knowledge that has benefited my life and
other peoples lives in many different ways. So in return, I will
add to this enormous resource of knowledge by learning and
seeking out more valuable information and more knowledge. Knowledge
that can be shared that would help make improvements in our
world. This way I can benefit people today and also benefit
people in the future, the same way that I have benefited from
people who shared knowledge and information throughout human
history. I am very important to the
cycle of life.

Levels: Beginner to Expert
Word Definitions will Include: Numbers,
Shapes, Symbols, Minerals, Science, Electronics, Sounds, Objects, Food, Colors, Body Parts,
Tools, Abilities, Senses, Behaviors and Language Grammar, to name a few.
Words have more then one Definition or Meaning
Beginner Level Students will see one or two basic definitions of a word
along with the most
important meaning and use of that word. But some words will have to show
more then one meaning whether it's an adjective, noun or verb. Beginner Level students will also learn
that even though words can have more then one meaning, the main meaning or
the root meaning of a word is the most important. And when the student hears a word
being used differently, then they will know to ask questions and infer its
intended
meaning if needed. A Learner's Dictionary
or Defining
Dictionary
with Simple to Understand Definitions of Words that are easy to Translate and
Interpret.
A students vocabulary should have enough words that are
needed to understand the majority of the basics in life, language and
communication. But students should also have the
necessary words that are needed to begin to understand the much larger
complexities in life, language and communication, this way learning is
never hindered or slowed. They should understand the words in their toolbox and how
they are used, and they should also know the words that still need to
learn and add to the toolbox. A student should always have
milestones and
goals, and also understand why they're important to achieve.
Expert Level Students
will see expanded meanings and definitions of words and symbols. Expert
Level students will also learn to analyze the
complexities of word uses
and learn to avoid generalizing. If a word has more then one definition,
then students will learn how to use more words around that word so as to
define the words meaning and make the message more clear and understood. BK101 will have its own
Advanced Dictionary because most
dictionaries can be ineffective and misleading, same goes for
encyclopedias.
Touchscreen Features:
Word and Letter will have Sounds on
Mouse over or Finger Touch (makes the sound of the Word or
Letter). (can modify voice). Mouse over can also display images or text
to give more visual details or more meaning to a word or phrase.

As you learn how to read, you will also learn
about yourself and the world around you. So you are not just learning how
to read, you are also becoming more intelligent. And you will also have
more skills and more abilities, and even more money.
Children prefer storybooks that explain why and how things happen.
Children have a never-ending curiosity about the world around them and
frequently question how and why it works the way it does. Researchers have
previously demonstrated that children are interested in causal
information, but had not yet linked this to a real-world activity, such as
reading. A new study finds that children prefer causally-rich storybooks,
suggesting that such content may be more engaging and could help to
increase children's interest in reading. Children have an insatiable
appetite to understand why things are the way they are, leading to their
apt description as "little scientists." While researchers have been aware
of children's interest in causal information, they didn't know whether it
influenced children's preferences during real-world activities, such as
reading.

Letter Case is the distinction
between the letters that are in larger upper-case (also uppercase, capital
letters, capitals, caps, large letters, or more formally majuscule)
and smaller lower-case (also lowercase, small letters, or more
formally minuscule) in the written representation of certain
languages. The writing systems that distinguish between the upper and
lower case have two parallel sets of letters, with each letter in one
set usually having an equivalent in the other set. The two case
variants are alternative representations of the same letter: they have
the same name and pronunciation and are treated identically when
sorting in alphabetical order. Letter case is generally applied in a
mixed-case fashion, with both upper- and lower-case letters
appearing in a given piece of text. The choice of case is often
prescribed by the grammar of a language or by the conventions of a
particular discipline. In orthography, the upper case is primarily
reserved for special purposes, such as the first letter of a sentence
or of a proper noun, which makes the lower case the more common
variant in regular text. In some contexts, it is conventional to use
one case only. For example, engineering design drawings are typically
labelled entirely in upper-case letters, which are easier to
distinguish than the lower case, especially when space restrictions
require that the lettering be small. In
mathematics, on the other hand, letter case may indicate the relationship between objects, with
upper-case letters often representing "superior" objects (e.g. X could
be a set containing the generic member x).
Typographically,
the basic difference between the majuscules and minuscules is not that the
majuscules are big and minuscules small, but that the majuscules generally
have the same height (although, depending on the typeface, there may be
some exceptions, particularly with Q and sometimes J having a descending
element; also, various diacritics can add to the normal height of a
letter). There is more variation in the height of the minuscules, as
some of them have parts higher (ascenders) or lower (descenders) than the
typical size. Normally, b, d, f, h, k, l, t are the letters with
ascenders, and g, j, p, q, y are the ones with descenders.
Writing Tips.
All Caps refers to
text or a font in which all letters are capital letters.
Capitalization
is writing a word with its first letter as a capital letter (uppercase
letter) and the remaining letters in lower case in writing systems
with a case distinction. The term is also used for the choice of case
in text.
Small Caps are
lowercase characters
typeset with glyphs that resemble uppercase letters ("capitals") but
reduced in height and weight, close to the surrounding lowercase (small)
letters or text figures.
Lowercase letters have a more distinctive
shape than capital letters, therefore they can be perceived more quickly
than uppercase letters. Because readers are frequently exposed to a word,
they no longer have to "read" the word, but instantly recognize the
meaning by the familiar shape of the group of letters.
Word Spacing.
Letter Case and Text Legibility in normal and Low Vision.
It is thought by cognitive scientists and typographers alike, that lower-case text is
more legible than upper-case. Yet lower-case letters are, on average,
smaller in height and width than upper-case characters, which suggests
an upper-case advantage. Using a single unaltered font and all upper-,
all lower-, and mixed-case text, we assessed size thresholds for words
and random strings, and reading speeds for text with normal and
visually impaired participants. Lower-case thresholds were roughly 0.1
log unit higher than upper-. Reading speeds were higher for upper-
than for mixed-case text at sizes twice acuity size; at larger sizes,
the upper-case advantage disappeared. Results suggest that
upper-case is more legible than the other case styles, especially for
visually-impaired readers, because smaller letter sizes can be used
than with the other case styles, with no diminution of
legibility.

Even though these are some of the most used words when writing and speaking, you
would not be able to communicate effectively or efficiently enough using
just these words. This is why
you need to have thousands
of words in your vocabulary. Language is extremely important in life,
and not just for yourself, but for everyone else, and also everything in
the universe. This is because the Language
of Math is almost everywhere. Human senses are beneficial, but not as
beneficial as language, our ability to process information needs a
language. The other human senses will act instinctively because of their
innate functions, but the human sense to receive, process and transmit
information could never function to its full capability without a
language. All human senses get better with experience, but in order to
understand that experience you need to have a language. And then you have
to learn how to use language. Language is related to
Pattern
Recognition, but patterns need symbolic representation. You need to be
able to differentiate or know the difference between each symbolic
representation. And then you need a system that can be repeatable and
reliable in interpreting patterns in a meaningful way. The ability to
recognize patterns is extremely important. A person could recognize a
pattern in a test, but only when someone is asking them if they can see a
pattern. But what if no one asked you if you could see a pattern? Would
you know enough to look for a pattern and know the questions that you need
to ask? There are patterns almost everywhere in reality. And if you don't
know how to recognize these patterns, you will be
vulnerable and
hindered.
