Dalai Lama Quote about Humanity Man sacrifices his health to make money, then he sacrifices his money to recuperate his health. He is so anxious about the future, that he doesn't enjoy the present. And he lives as if he's never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.

What if Money was No Object, what would you do? (youtube) - What do you desire? What makes you itch? What sort of a situation would you like? Let’s suppose, I do this often in vocational guidance of students, they come to me and say, well, "we’re getting out of college and we have the faintest idea what we want to do". So I always ask the question, "what would you like to do if money were no object? How would you really enjoy spending your life?" Well, it’s so amazing as a result of our kind of educational system, crowds of students say well, we’d like to be painters, we’d like to be poets, we’d like to be writers, but as everybody knows you can’t earn any money that way. Or another person says well, I’d like to live an out-of-doors life and ride horses. I said you want to teach in a riding school? Let’s go through with it. What do you want to do? When we finally got down to something, which the individual says he really wants to do, I will say to him, you do that and forget the money, because, if you say that getting the money is the most important thing, you will spend your life completely wasting your time. You’ll be doing things that you don’t like doing in order to go on living, that is to go on doing things that you don’t like doing, which is stupid. Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way. And after all, if you do really like what you’re doing, it doesn’t matter what it is, you can eventually turn it – you could eventually become a master of it. It’s the only way to become a master of something, to be really with it. And then you’ll be able to get a good fee for whatever it is. So don’t worry too much. That’s everybody is – somebody is interested in everything, anything you can be interested in, you will find others will. But it’s absolutely stupid to spend your time doing things that you don’t like, just so you can keep wasting more time doing other things that you don’t like, and then turn around and teach your children to follow the same track. See what we are doing, is we’re bringing up children and educating to live the same sort of life's we are living. In order that they may justify themselves and find satisfaction in life by bringing up their children to bring up their children to do the same thing, so it’s all retch, and no vomit it never gets there. And so, therefore, it’s so important to consider this question: What do I desire? What if you had the Power?

But it's not just what you desire, it's also what the world needs you to do. What is the most important work that needs to be done? What are the priorities and the responsibilities in our current stage of life that would make living more enjoyable and more stable? There are probably thousands of choices to choose from. You should know how to measure value.

“I believe that we learn by practice. Whether it means to learn to dance by practicing dancing or to learn to live by practicing living, the principles are the same. In each, it is the performance of a dedicated precise set of acts, physical or intellectual, from which comes shape of achievement, a sense of one's being, a satisfaction of spirit. One becomes, in some area, an athlete of God. Practice means to perform, over and over again in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire. Practice is a means of inviting the perfection desired.” Martha Graham.

Life, I still can't believe how amazing it is, no matter how much you know, you will never know everything at once, and there lies the beauty of life. You can't control everything, but who would want too? Trying to control everything would be to much work and not enough life. Like being every where and no where at once. I who am blind can give one hint to those who see: Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be stricken blind. And the same method can be applied to the other senses. Smell the perfume of flowers, taste with relish each morsel, as if tomorrow you could never smell and taste again. make the most of every sense; glory in the beauty which the world in all the facets of pleasure reveals to you through the several means of contact which Nature provides. Remember, don't allow other people to control your thinking, and don't allow outside forces to intrude on your wellbeing. Remember that you have abilities, and remember that you also have a brain, which means that you have controls, so don't stress yourself. It's healthier to logically think about things then it is to just worry about things. You'll figure it out. And when you're tired, Rest. Learn to relax every part of your body, especially the face and the stomach area. It's your life, enjoy the fucking shit out of it.

When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is strange with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns. And many a failure comes about, When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up though the pace seems slow—You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out—The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell just how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit—It's when things seem worst that you must not quit. ~John Greenleaf Whittier

Life is a Verb Life is a Wave, because a wave gives us choices, while a straight line only has one choice, which is forward. We too go forward, but we can also go left, right, up, down, and back. We are particles, but we all ride the wave.

Be careful of your thoughts, negative thoughts are unhealthy for you, choose your thoughts well. Be careful what you say, negative words are unhealthy for others, choose your words well.

We must understand the differences between what is logical, and, what is illogical. In order to know what logical is, you must also know what illogical is.

illogical is lacking in correct logical relation. Lacking orderly continuity or union. Now lets take the ill out of 'ill'ogical.

ill is being affected by an impairment of normal physical or mental function. Resulting in suffering or adversity. Distressing. Indicating hostility or enmity. Unfavorably or with disapproval. With difficulty or inconvenience; scarcely or hardly. An often persistent bodily disorder or disease; a cause for complaining. To go deeper into what being ill is, read about know thyself and mental health.

Logical is being capable of or reflecting the capability for correct and valid reasoning. Based on known statements or events or conditions. Marked by an orderly, logical, and aesthetically consistent relation of parts. Capable of thinking and expressing yourself in a clear and consistent manner. The opposite of ill is well.

To go deeper into what being well is, read about Morals and Ethics.

Well is being in a good or proper or satisfactory manner or to a high standard. To a suitable or appropriate extent or degree. Favorably; with approval. Discretion in practical affairs. Wise or advantageous and Worthy of being recommended or suggested. Knowing how to avoid embarrassment or unusual distress. With prudence or propriety. Indicating high probability; in all likelihood. Using correct or appropriate behavior, with good humor, without resentment. With great or especially intimate knowledge. An abundant source. To a great extent or degree. Thoroughly or completely; fully; often used as a combining form.

Everything Happens for a Reason

Things do happen for a reason, how else would you be here? But not all the reasons are known. Everything happens for a reason because everything is cause and effect. But the problem with everything being cause and effect is that you can't be aware of everything, and the things that you are aware of, you will not always fully understand. So saying that everything happens for a reason, is an extremely idiotic idiom. Of course a lot of things have to happen for a reason, if not, then we would not be here. So when someone says "everything happens for a reason", my reaction is this, "No Sh*t Sherlock, do you actually have any information, or do you just like quoting the obvious to waste everyone's time with words?" You would be better off saying. This is what we know. We have been examining why things happen, and because of that, we know why certain things do happen. But only because we investigated, researched and tested these things. But not everyone has the ability to analyze their life so deeply as to be fully aware of all the cause and effects that are happening all around them for every second of every day. But luckily God gave us a memory, and if we use our memory correctly, learning becomes our most powerful ability that we have. Learning is our power, but most of us are not even aware of this power. Learning is being extremely underutilized. It's like buying a computer with a 500 gig hard drive but only using 20 gig. So What's the Point of having that much capacity if you are never going to use it? You're wasting more then just space, you're wasting potential, and power. If everything on your hard drive gave you more abilities and more potential and more power, you would definitely want to take advantage of your hard drive's ability, especially the ability to store knowledge and information. But what if you never learned how to maximize this ability? You have to learn the right knowledge at the right time in order to have learning be the most effective and the most efficient. And if you're learning the wrong things at the wrong times, that's extremely ineffective and inefficient, with serious side effects, like war, unemployment, corruption, crimes, and on and so on.

Anomalies - Random - Coincidence - Relative

Believing that there's a reason for everything does not mean that everything is explained. You can only go to a certain point, and then the information stops. This means that you don't know of any other reasons that there might be, so you can only understand the cause of something to a certain point. And you can't go further unless there's some type of a signal. It doesn't mean that there is nothing there, it just can't be detected or understood using our current sensors and technologies. Knowing the root cause will always have its benefits, but there is still no guarantee that your understanding will be accurate. One thing is for certain, you can't stop learning. Every single luxury and technology that people have today is the result of people learning. And all the bad things that we have today in society is from people not learning.

Things happen for a reason, but who's reason is it? Is it your reasoning or is someone it someone's else's reasoning? You can't be aware of every single scenario because you don't have all the information. So if God does have a reason, then how would you know what that reason is? Am I supposed to figure this out? It seems the best I can do is to guess what the reason may be by knowing as many different scenarios as possible, and also to keep learning and adding to what I know. If there is one reason, it is to learn from things that happen in life, but you have to be aware of them in order to learn from them. And Free Will is having a conscience, one that is learned and understood accurately.

Predeterminism - Determinism - Will Power

Saying life is meaningless is an ignorant statement and meaningless in itself. What do you mean by meaningless? Meaningless to who? There's no one single answer that would explain or prove meaningless. All we have is what we known so far, and so far we know very little, even knowing that we have learned a lot, we still have a lot to learn.

Capacity is the power to learn or retain knowledge. In law capacity is the ability to understand the facts and significance of your behavior. Capability to perform or produce. The maximum production possible. The amount that can be contained. In computer science capacity is the amount of information in bytes that can be stored on a disk drive, or in this case, The Human Brain and its Memory.

Luck is an unknown and unpredictable phenomenon that leads to a favorable outcome. There is no Failure.

Fate is the belief that certain events are destined to happen in a particular and are beyond a person's control because they are determined by a supernatural power or intervention. Sometimes bad things are also destined to happen, but you can still do something. You don't have to be pessimistic.

Destiny is a predetermined course of events that may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. Your overall circumstances or condition in life, including everything that happens to you.

Expected is something that is considered likely or probable to happen or likely to arrive. Odds.

Unexpected is something that happened that was not expected or anticipated. Anomaly.

Anticipate is to regard something as probable or likely to happen. A prediction that allows you to act in advance in order to deal with something or be ready for something ahead of time.

I don't believe that everything happens for a reason, but I do believe that something's do happen for a reason, not everything, but some things do happen for a reason. Whether it's good luck or bad luck, some of the things that happen to you, teach you something, if it didn't, then you wouldn't be reading this right now.

"Knowing the actual reason why something happened is not that important, the important thing is, what did you learn? Because, what you learned is the most important thing that you can take with you after an experience, knowledge is key."

Simple Living - Simplicity

Simple Living encompasses a number of different logical practices to simplify one's lifestyle. These may include reducing one's possessions and reducing waste. Simple living may be generally referred to as minimalism or increasing self-sufficiency. Simple living may be characterized by individuals being satisfied with what they have rather than what they want. When you know how something works, you could do your own maintenance and be more self sufficient.

"I live simply so that others can simply live." Sustainable - Reductionism - Reducing

Simplicity is the state or quality of being simple. Something which is easy to understand or explain, in contrast to something complicated. Something is simple or complex depending on the way we choose to describe it. In some uses, the label "simplicity" can imply beauty, purity, or clarity. "If you can't explain it simply enough, then you most likely don't understand it well enough."

Simpler is having few parts that are not complex or complicated or involved and easy to understand, exhibiting childlike simplicity and being trustworthy.

Simple is something that is easy and not complicated or hard, something that you will not have to struggle with.

Easy is something that is not difficult that requires little effort. Easy is being relaxed and free from worry and being without anxiety and hardship. Something pleasurable and easy to manage and maintain.

Minimalism is reducing things in life down to its necessary elements and essential quality. Avoiding unhealthy attachments and selfishly motivated extravagance.

Materialism is a tendency to consider material possessions and physical comfort as more important than spiritual values.

More is Less and Less is More. Less worries and less work means more fun and more time, and no FMO.

KISS Principle is a design principle that states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated, therefore simplicity should be a key goal in design, and that unnecessary complexity should be avoided. KISS is an acronym for "Keep it simple, stupid". Variations on the phrase include: "Keep it simple, silly", "keep it short and simple", "keep it simple and straightforward", "keep it small and simple" and "keep it stupid simple".

Drawdown is the reduction and the lowering of the quantity of something. Drawdown can also be seen as reducing waste or reducing clutter. Efficiency- Computer Design.

Phase Out is to gradually stop using something. (cut back, reduce, decrease, roll back, scale back). Transition.

Downsize is to reduce the number of things that you don't need. Minimalizing without making sacrifices.

Complicated is something that is difficult to analyze or to understand because it has many parts that require lots of knowledge and skill in order to operate effectively and efficiently.

Complex is something that is complicated in structure and consisting of many interconnected parts. A conceptual whole made up of complicated and related parts.

Degree of Difficulty is a concept used in several sports and other competitions to indicate the technical difficulty of a skill, performance, or course, often as a factor in scoring.

Dematerialization in economics refers to the absolute or relative reduction in the quantity of materials required to serve economic functions in society. In common terms, dematerialization means doing more with less.

Ephemeralization is the ability of technological advancement to do "more and more with less and less until eventually you can do everything with nothing," that is, an accelerating increase in the efficiency of achieving the same or more output (products, services, information, etc.) while requiring less input (effort, time, resources, etc.).

Minimalism is not about sacrifice, it's more about common sense. It's having a good awareness, it's about fairness, it's about reality, it's about experiencing a good life, without contributing to our problems or doing more harm then good.

People are starving to death while people are eating themselves to death. They are people who have very little and are struggling in life just to get what they need, while others are having more then they need and are still struggling in life and wasting their potential and what they have. We are screwed in a lot of ways. But if we work together to make improvements, and if we all made good decisions together, we would have continuous improvements in life. We will still make mistakes, but we will make less less mistakes as we progress each year.

Limited choices + limited knowledge = degradation

To minimize is not to waste. It's to have more focus. It's to have more potential. It's to have more meaning. It's to have less weight and less distractions. But it is more then that. Minimalism is a learning journey, a quest for harmony and equilibrium, to have balance, to live a life that is easy to maintain, which leave more time to enjoy life. But you have to start the journey to freedom, and you must not forget that you are on a journey.

Being a Minimalist will not make you happy all by itself. Just like buying more things then you need will also not make you happy all by itself. Minimalism is the combination of several things, it's learning, it's listening, it's being aware, it's living. Love, Learn, Live and Progress.

You can't fill your life with just your own personal experiences and expect to be happy or fulfilled, it takes more then just experiences, it takes a lot of learning, reading and studying in order to fully understand yourself and the world around you. Just to experience life is not enough, even though learning through experiences is a great way to learn.

Life is simple and life is complex. Keeping things simple is more enjoyable. But just because life is full of complexities does not mean we should feel stress or anxiety, it just means that we need to learn more to understand. Keeping things simple does not excuse you from learning and trying to understand life's complexities.

The world is going to get more complicated before it gets any simpler. The best society would be one that is simple to understand and simple to operate. But this society would also have to have access to the more complicated details of our world. We want life to be simple but we can't ignore the details. We also can't afford to undereducated people who are unaware of the details of life and incapable of understanding the details of life, and therefore unable to make good decisions or make the right choices. We are now more aware of how ignorance kills and how ignorance makes people more vulnerable to death and abuse.

We are seeking a common ground, a place in the middle were we can all meet. where no one is poor and no one is extremely wealthy. It's not living with less, it's living with plenty, because there is plenty for everyone.

Too many people race towards the finish line just to find out that there isn't a finish line. Life isn't a Race.

The Tortoise and the Hare is a story about a Hare who ridicules a slow-moving Tortoise. Tired of the Hare's boastful behaviour, the Tortoise challenges him to a race. The hare soon leaves the tortoise behind and, confident of winning, takes a nap midway through the race. When the Hare awakes however, he finds that his competitor, crawling slowly but steadily, has arrived before him.

Rat Race is an endless, self-defeating, or pointless pursuit. It conjures up the image of lab rats racing through a maze to get the "cheese" much like society racing to get ahead financially.

Having too many things on your plate and trying to do too much can cause Burnout, and sometimes can cause mistakes to happen because you created too many things to be aware of.

There are Responsibilities that every Human Needs to do. The 3 most important are: Maintain a Healthy Mind and Body, Maintain a Healthy Environment and always be increasing your Knowledge of yourself and of the world. Then the person can do what they Like to do...Play Sports, Enjoy Recreational Activities, Pursue Hobbies, Work, Entertain, Teach, Volunteer, spend time with Family and Friends, Travel, Discover and Explore. And making sure that what the person "Likes to do" does not go against what they "Need to do".

So how's it going? I'm hanging on by a thread. But the funny part is I'm not even sure if the thread is real, or, what will actually happen when or even if this thread will break, and if it does break, where am I falling too and where am I falling from? So lets just say that things could be better and things could be worse, and just what those things are I'm not really sure because there's always more then what we see on the surface. So it's best that we talk particulars, because generally speaking is almost meaningless.

Idioms for Idiots

That's the way the ball bounces, that's the way the cookie crumbles, that's the way life is, that's life, that is the way things happen, that's the way it goes, that's the way the mop flops, that's the way the world wags, tough shit, get a job, just say no!

Idiom is a phrase or a fixed expression that has a figurative, or sometimes literal, meaning. Categorized as formulaic language, an idiom's figurative meaning is different from the literal meaning. There are thousands of idioms, occurring frequently in all languages. It is estimated that there are at least twenty-five thousand idiomatic expressions in the English language. Idiom Connection.

Idiom is an expression whose meanings cannot be inferred from the meanings of the words that make it up.

Never use an idiom as a response to a serious subject, because you will sound like an a**hole and not help the person understand the situation better. You are better off saying "I wish I knew what to say that would bring you some kind of understanding to this, but I don't, all I can say is that I will help in every way possible through this difficult time, and if there is any explanations or answers out there that would help bring some light to this, I will help you find them."

Siamese Twins in linguistics refers to a pair or group of words used together as an idiomatic expression or collocation, usually conjoined by the words and or or. The order of elements cannot be reversed. The expressions milk and honey (two nouns), short and sweet (two adjectives), and do or die (two verbs) are various examples of Siamese twins.

To say that nothing can be done about it, or to say that's the way things happen, or to say certain things cannot be changed, or helped or improved, and that struggle and objections are pointless. To say such things is a lie and an ignorant observation that explains nothing of value. Things can always be explained, if not, then there is always something to learn that you can benefit from. So you are better off saying nothing then to belittle a moment in time with empty words.

It's all relevant, relevant to what?

"There's always a little more to a simple quote , it's a little more then just that."

I'm just doing what you would be doing if you were me...

Life is strange sometimes, you never really know how your life will turn out until you are near the end, and that's the moment you realize that your life is just beginning, again. So what was that whole life for? All those incredible memories seem so distant now, all because of my Basic Knowledge 101 education project, which is more then just a project. As I collected and organized the worlds most valuable knowledge and information that I could find, the knowledge and information has accumulated in my mind, and has gradually transformed me to be more intelligent and more aware. And when I realized the changes, I also realize that this is just the beginning, I have a lot of ignorance in me that I need to correct. And as I do, a whole new world awaits. So why me? So why not me? I finally realized why I'm here, this is my calling. But it's the biggest and most complex undertaking that I have ever seen in my life. This is not a career, or an adventure, or even a cause. This is monumental change, a monumental advancement in spirit, mind and body. I don't want to let go of the life that I lived in the first 50 years, I want to preserve it, and it seems that this is one way of doing it. In order for us to preserve our cultures and our true history, we must become intelligent, there is no other way.

Basic Knowledge 101 is more intelligent then i.

So many people live life, but most people never take a moment to stop and look at life, and understand life. Everything that everyone has today is from people taking a moment to look at life. And those moments have been collected over the years in form of books, songs, videos, photos, technology, medicine, and now, in the digitizing of the enormous wealth of our combined knowledge from all over the world. Every Human being now has the ability to be intelligent, but in order to become intelligent you must have access to the worlds most valuable knowledge and information. And then you need to learn how to use knowledge and information effectively and efficiently.

Too many people go through life without ever questioning the things around them. Too many people never question why things are the way they are. Too many people except things in life as being normal, or being beyond their control. In fact, everything in life is in our control, we just have to learn how. But some things take a long time to learn, sometimes more then a single lifetime, which should never discourage you, after all, everyone alive is the result of many lifetimes. If people could learn to see themselves as being more then just individuals, and see themselves as being a part of a much bigger picture, a picture that is not constrained to a single lifetime or to a single idea, people would be able to understand life a whole lot better, and be able to feel the power that resides within us all. That day is getting closer.

Peter Gabriel - Solsbury Hill (youtube) - Climbing up on Solsbury Hill, I could see the city light, Wind was blowing, time stood still, Eagle flew out of the night, He was something to observe, Came in close, I heard a voice, Standing, stretching every nerve, I had to listen had no choice, I did not believe the information, I just had to trust imagination, My heart going boom, boom, boom, Son, he said, grab your things I've come to take you home. To keep in silence I resigned, My friends would think I was a nut, Turning water into wine, Open doors would soon be shut, So I went from day to day, Though my life was in a rut, Till I thought of what I'd say, And which connection I should cut, I was feeling part of the scenery, I walked right out of the machinery, My heart going boom, boom, boom, Son, he said, grab your things I've come to take you home. When illusion spin her net, I'm never where I want to be, And liberty she pirouette, When I think that I am free, Watched by empty silhouettes, Close their eyes but still can see, No one taught them etiquette, So I will show another me, Today I don't need a replacement, I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant, My heart going boom, boom, boom, Hey, I said, you can keep my things they've come to take me home, Come back home, Come back home, Come back home.

We see 350,000 children being born everyday, we see that 150,000 people die everyday, and we are right in the middle of life's cycle, we see where we came from, and we see how it ends, and yet most people don't feel any connection to this miracle called life that everyone is experiencing. As if we go numb and fall asleep. We need a reminder. We need a reminder that says, "Oh My God, I'm Still Alive!". Some people usually never understand how precious and incredible life is until they experience a horrible accident that almost ends their life. You don't need a near death experience to realize how special life is, because you are living in an accident right now, this accident is called life, and you are going to die some day. But you're alive now, so make the best of it, be aware of it, embrace it, love it, live it, because for now, it's all that we have.

Love should be emanating from you at all times. It's your gift, it's your power, embrace it.

Emanating is to originate from; be produced by. Give out or emit (something abstract but perceptible).

Embrace is to take up the cause, ideology, practice, method, of something and use it as one's own. Include in scope; include as part of something broader; have as one's sphere or territory. A close affectionate and protective acceptance.
